This game sounds great, though I can't decide which version to get (XBONE or PC).
That's pretty much a no-brainer
But wait, i suggest waiting for release and how PC version turns up, last IDTECH game ran better even on last gen consoles than on my PC for example.
I wish they weren't using id Tech 5, I hate that engine.
Lol it's not so bad except for the game size.
RAGE and Wolfenstein: TNO ran great on PC here, so, I'm grabbing The Evil Within on PC.
Ran fine on my system too. I'm not sure I want another 50GB download though. Will wait for reviews to see how the PC turns out.
With more and more games getting to those sizes, it doesn't bother me any.
It's funny that people made such a huge fuss over Wolf's install size, as if it was the only game to ever be in that are.
Seems people didn't download CoD: Ghosts, Titanfall, or Max Payne 3... or BioShock: Infinite with all it's DLC.
Game sizes will continue to grow larger and larger. I still remember people complaining when games went over 1 gig... and now look at it. Average game size is 15 to 20.
I just hate the textures, just look at these Wolfenstein screenshots, Rage had crap textures as well.
You can see in The Evil Within trailers that it has crap textures. I dont like the black bars either. I know gameplay should be more important but I haaaate low res textures.
All your screenshots did is make me want to replay it.
I think the game looks great. Yeah, if you shove your face into the walls... they are not super-high res.
But, there is so much more to a game (even it's visuals) then if the textures are high resolution or not.
And Wolf... is awesome. On every level.
Yeah some textures do look kinda crap, but overall it should a great action horror experience, saw some really detailed monster characters, kinda like Alone in the dark + silent hill..
Only wished they would opt for Foxenigne Kujima?, that would really make the game shine.
Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, and the graphics are generally nice. It's just the textures I don't like.
These ones are particularly bad.
I just expected better for a game that was released in 2014 and with the ridiculous install size it has, plus the amount of memory the NG conesoles have.
Look at The Evil Within pictures on there site, the textures look pretty bad, hopefully the new DOOM which use's id Tech 6 Engine has better textures.
Texture detail means little to me. Yeah, it's always nice when a game makes the best out of them... but, in the end... it's the entire package that matters to me.
I love the Saints Row games, specifically 3 and 4. But, the texture quality in them is really lacking. But... the games are so damn awesome I could care less.
For The Evil Within... I think it looks great. But, my main interest in it comes from Shinji Mikami. His involvement, let alone his leading it, instantly got me on this one.
Shame they went with IDTECH , should have used upgraded skyrim engine , that way we could mod crap textures
Now up on Steam to pre-order, 14th October release.
Yeah, a week after Alien: Isolation.
Textures look a bit blurry but I have yet to get into a 3rd person horror game. Alan Wake was probably the closest that I liked ok.
60 bucks, looks like I'll wait for a sale then.
