is there any way to improve the quality of the textures?the game is a good one anyway but i was a bit dissapointed with the textures.Wolfenstein has better textures, cleaner image somehow.running okay with sli and cpu tool.

    Create cache files

Disadvantage The texture cache folder is not made by the game so the cache is regenerated for each session.

Right-click the game in the Steam client and choose Properties.
Click Set Launch Options and add +fs_cachepath "<directory>" (choose directory you want, default is: "%LOCALAPPDATA%\TangoGameworks\The Evil Within_ng\", and ensure the directory is already created)
Click OK and run the game.

    Tried the r_skipglare 1 command.
The game does look a lot crisper, texture detail definitely pops more. But... the game's atmosphere takes a big hit.

Removing the color grading, post processing effects and other features really kicks the game's atmosphere and feel down a notch.
Personally, I'm gonna remove the skipglare command and go back to how it was.

Im still on chapter 3, found the pump action shotgun and the agony jobbie now, took me ages to work out what that jangling chains and moaning was, its some bugger chained up behind where the pigs are :D

Incidentally, i went to pick something up by the pigs, and i ended up kicking a one by mistake :D :(

Yeah, the atmosphere is definitely alot better on the bottom picture.

It's nice people can mess about and change it though, probably won't do much myself when i get round to playing this.

Yeah, the game looks SO much better as it is.
Setting skipglare to 1 gives you the top image and while it makes the textures crisper... it ruins the game's feel.

A big area to notice it in... the save area with teh nurse.
With the skipglare command entered that area looks so dull and empty.

Patch? There's been nothing like that for the game yet.
(And it's Steam and would auto-update.)

Bethesda has stated they are currently working on an update specifically for PC to add more features (such as letterbox fix and frame rate fix) and bug fixes and optimizations.

And, if you check, the game's profile has been updated with new builds as they are testing the update.
It'll take time for them to get the update out.
