I put you on my whitelist but I would strongly prefer a subscription model like I use on the nexus sites.

I don't understand how you all lag from the ads ... what other sites are you visiting !? I HAVE NEVER USED ADDBlock ... The only ads that annoy me are the pop-up ones ... but I don't have them here so it;s all good

It pays for the site and all the reviews you like to read, so maybe you should change you attitude, at least towards sites you like and use regularly. At least we know of at least one person to blame if Guru3D needs to make cutbacks, and you will forego all yours rights to complain if that happens.

    Done and done.

    Should post this often!

Honestly I forget adblock is even enabled, only installed it to remove intrusive youtube ads.

Hope this situation improves greatly for you Hilbert.

Sorry guys but I use my host to block a lot of S#@t coming from the interweb. this does have an effect of sites like guru3d but not much I can do about it. What I am willing to do is pay a subscription fee which should help offset my add blocking. For me I willing to pay Monthly or yearly as a lot of the information I gather does come from guru3d.

It has been said before, but I browse using Firefox, and sometimes I need to click the Back button four times to get back to the front page from an article page. This never happened when Adblock was in use.

It's weird and kind of worrisome. What business do ads have to cause such an effect? If they do that, what else are they doing and for what purpose?

This. Last time I had some weird ass crap that was hyperlinking text in g3d forums it wasn't because of the ads it was something that had infected my browser/computer so I looked for it because it was annoying as hell. Same for some pop ups. Normal ads here are rather passive images you can click and are brought here by our own habits or what we have been recently googling/looking in to.

That is just weird. Does not happen to me without adblock. Not even on porn sites damnit.

I have no problems with the ads on G3D, everything working fine. Ads not intrusive, in fact rarely notice them. Some sites truly deserve ad-blocking, a few annoying news sites come to mind. Worst ads are audio ads, totally disruptive and probably do more to turn visitors away than boost ad revenue.

Seeing how non-intrusive G3Ds ads are, may whitelist other decent sites I also visit.

I'm sorry to say I've been blocking ads for a long time. Since this post I have whitelisted your ads. You're one of the few tech sites I read and I feel bad about it now.

It is heartwarming to see that so many people are willing to hear me out and whitelist Guru3D.com as a result, thanks very much !

Don't use Adblock for this reason. However... A Optional subscription service as others have said would be a good idea, id sign up

Never used adblockers but a good heads up anyway.

A donate function could be nice but I think that's a bit of gray area.
As in who donates and who doesn't and should those who donate (enough?) have the ability to use the site without ads etc.

The free-for-all approach is good in the sense it's the same for everyone. I'll gladly tolerate those "date Russian/Chinese/... women now" ads to be able to enjoy Guru3D!

I do wonder why exactly those keep showing up for me though...

I have been bothered by you-tube "skip" video adds for a very long time, and other websites that use agresive adds

Recently i have installed add blocker and I'm glad i did. Some websites really deserve it!

After seeing this post i have whitelisted Guru3D.com and will do so with all websites that i enjoy. (i actually discovered that it's possible, reading this)

Indeed your adds have never bothered me so i see no reason not to help.

I have never donated to a website before but i'm considering doing so for your website as i found myself being a daily visitor.

    Best regards !
