It seems that the ammount of AMD users stays at 77% and Intel users at 22%.
2)intel celeron 300Mhz
4)Intel Pentium!!! 800EB
5)InHell Pentium4 3.2E prescott
In future I think still Inhell(intel) whatever it's will hot til burn my case.ei ei
Pentium4 2.4c ----> my current rig
Pentium4 3.0 - my laptop
and my working server: Dual Xeon 2.4
I guess because Intel isn't a gaming CPU. If this where a multimedia or general computer forum, we'd see more Intels than AMDs.
486 sx 66 (edit: or was it 25? man, I can't remember now)
p3 something (maybe it was p3 450?)
i dont think thats the reason...the reason that intel sells more cpus worldwide,is that sells them in people that dont know **** about pc's ,and probably dont know the excistence of amd,or dont trust it her...and also at large companies wich buy them in large amounts...
but in the forum, and especially htis one, more than 90% here know the excistence of amd,and the differences between the 2 companies...
AMD all the way for me
OK Here goes:
(No idea what chips, but I had 'em)
33Mhz 486 I think it was a VIA
66Mhz 486 Was a Cyrix
100Mhz 486 DX4 Cyrix
450 AMD K6-2
500 AMD K6-3
1200 Mhz AMD T-Bird
Intel P-4 1.8
Intel P-3 733
And I know I forgot a few.
Here goes my history:
1x 286sx 33
1x 486DX2-66 Compaq CDS 720 still up and running
2x 486DX4-100 i hatted those IBMs
1x Pentium 133 upgraded to 166 Compaq
1x K6-2 450 IBM
1x k6-2 500 Compaq
1x Celeron 1.2Ghz ( first i've built my own )
1x Celeron 1.4Ghz Compaq, sister's PC
1x P4 2.4 Compaq, Dad's PC
1x AXP 28000+ Barton that is on my specs .
PS>> Moms PC: P3 800 that i bought as a toasted K6-2 500
Lets have a go. Intel user, AMD sometimes
1xPentium 1 or 2 450Mhz
1xPentium 3 Mobile 750Mhz
5xPentium 3 1Ghz
1xAthlon XP 1800+
1xAthlon XP 2500+
1xAthlon XP 2500+ Mobile
1xPentium 4 2.6C In my sig
2xPentium 4 2.8C
More to come
All except for the 450Mhz and the first 2500 are still in use. The 450 is to slow and fried the first 2500 trying to get 2.5Ghz on air. So got a Mobile 2500 and things are OK at 2.5Ghz! That's my story.
Why did you go Intel? Wasn't your AMD cpu not fast enough for gaming? lol
History of CPU's? here's mine:
Pentium MMX 233 mhz (never oced it... now I use it as a necklace..)
AMD K6-2+ 500 mhz (also it's a necklace, never oced it..., since this processor I hate intel)
AMD Sempron 2200+ 1.5 ghz (oced to 1.8 2600+)
Next processor will be an AMD 64 3200+-3500+... when I have the money and I don't see myself buying that processor in the near future...
my main computer--->
intel 3.4 6800 gt
intel 3.06 6800 gt 1066rdram
pentium 150 MHz, i didnt understand pc's then so didnt try overlclocking
Intel Celery 1.7Ghz, that pc worked for no more than 30 mins at a time, it was returned quickly
AMD Duron 1.4Ghz, lasted a good while, until it melted to the motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2200+ @1.8Ghz, good for its run, then i upgraded my whole pc
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @2.2Ghz/2.5Ghz, seems fine for me now, maybe in the future there'll be a dual core one
1. Z80 (ZX Spectrum, Amstrad 664/6128)
2. 6502 (CBM 64)
3. MC68000 (Amiga A500, A1000, A2000)
4. MC68020 (A1200)
5. MC68030 (A3000) <- fave machine ever
6. ARM thingy in an Archimedes. Didn't like it much - too hard to program.
7. AMD K6-2 550
8. AMD K7 Duron 750, Athlon 850, XP2000, XP2600, currently on XPM-2600.
9. Intel P2 300MHz. Only got it to make use of an AT case.
My PC history:
1. ZX Spectrum 128k +2
2. 486DX2 66Mhz (My first proper PC, had Win 3.11 yey)
3. Cyrix M2-300 (was 240Mhz, my brother fried it by setting it to 4x 120Mhz instead of 4x 60, eek)
4. Pentium 3 667Mhz (Coppermine, was my pc for nearly 2 years, went from having 128Meg of ram and a TNT2, to 768Meg of Ram and a Radeon 9200)
5. Athlon XP 2600+ (Barton, was my favourite rig until now)
6. Athlon 64 3000+ (NewCastle, OC'ed to 2250Mhz ).
