    No worries im fully aware how dangerous they are, Ive a lost a chunk of my finger with a much less powerful fan. Those 40mm high rpm fans are no joke.

    @chispy that looks sweet man

    My build is still stuck with scan.co.uk, their Corsair 3200 C16 was quite cheap @~£186 and was why i decided to go with them but they mailed me saying its out of stock until this Wednesday, i checked the price and its up @ £333 WTF?

    Anyway im not in a mad rush to build considering all the issues with the Asus CH6 and will probably build it on March 18th.

    Nice view ;) Have fun! And if you find the time can you post what revision your Crosshair is? It is printed between the PCIe slots below the Crosshair title.

    Ditto and I'll be buying the CH6 too, so I'm going to be curious about revision also. Really wanted to go ASRock but the CH6 is better for me all around for a couple of reasons.

    It may or may not be beneficial changing them. Microsoft claims there isn't, but many people have reported improvements in some way when these are changed.

    Setting systempages and pagedpoolsize doesn't set these to a specific value, basically it just allows for greater automated limits (theoretically). You can try it out, and if it makes zero difference in everything for you it can always be changed back to 0 although there would be no need to if there isn't any difference!

    Another reported benefit in some instances is changing the handle limit, something I didn't mention earlier (as I forgot to :D). These are the same between old 32-bit Windows and modern 64-bit Windows.

    The limit is 65536 for each of these (that's excessive), the default is 10,000. That should be enough anyway, but some have reported better stability and even performance with doubling them. If there is a difference 12,000 might do, but no harm in doing 20,000.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]

    "GDIProcessHandleQuota"=dword:00004e20
    "USERPostMessageLimit"=dword:00004e20
    "USERProcessHandleQuota"=dword:00004e20
    So that, along with changing the pagedpoolsize, systempages, and that manually edited registry tweak (careful with that one), it will probably make all of zero difference :) but some people have said that all together there is noticeable benefit in smoothness, games not creashing or glitching etc (in these cases, it probably just masks poor programming?).

    In any case, worth a try :). Might as well play around with your current install of Windows, seeing as Creators Update is coming out. Might not be a bad idea to do a fresh install when it does.

    Just wanted to push an update, the Asus Prime was a nightmare for me.

    The morning after I got the 8GB stick (background in my previous posts lol) to post, it stopped posting and then my 16GB stick which didn't post before started posting... and then that night when I got home from work it refused to post with any RAM I had.

    I was going to swap it for a Crosshair, but Microcenter had run out, so I wound up switching to the ASRock Fatality Professional Gaming board, and it works flawlessly with my 2x16GB ram kit. (Can't get it to run at 3200MHz, but I have it running fine at 2666 right now, might try 2933)

    Only complaint with this motherboard is despite what it says on its website, unlike the Asus Prime, this board does NOT support headphone impedance detection through the front panel audio jacks, but it works fine using the rear jacks.

    And the bios isn't as nice, and it doesn't run in 1080p for some reason on my setup, not sure if the Asus bios ran in 1080p but it certainly ran at a higher resolution than this one.

    I think I ordered the same kit from them last week:

    32GB (2x16GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-25600 (3200), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 16-18-18-36, XMP 2.0, 1.35V - £186.49

    Hoping that because they are dual rank that my speed isn't gimped too much on an Asrock Taichi, which hopefully might arrive some time this century from Overclockers UK :D

    Yeah that's the same one lol, they said they would be in stock tomorrow, let's see.
    Also hoping they don't gimp performance too much or that they even work, memory for ryzen is a nightmare and 16GB DDR4 prices are insane and because of only 4 DDR slots its a waste going for 8GB sticks if you want the rig to last and do heavy work with it.

    Benchmarking Ryzen & GPU Bottlenecks

    Since our Ryzen review, we've followed up with a gaming-specific feature testing 16 games at 1080p and 1440p, and yes, I’m also testing with SMT enabled and disabled. Results are very interesting,
    but this article is about addressing GPU bottlenecks and explaining when and where you are seeing them and why.

    From what I've read so far 2 x DR is able to clock higher than 4 x SR, so if you want 32Gb then 2x16Gb is definitely the way forward.

    I've been doing more video editing lately and 8Gb really isn't cutting it, I thought I'd future proof with 32Gb and that Scan price was too cheap to pass up!

    By those two values its a optimal increase in 16mb.

    So 20 and 64.

    Although i used some more parameters combined and it made things worse, slower or not responding LAN and that gpu tweak broke youtube and other anomalies in games.

    E.g. broken gamma in l4d2 and avp2010 not responding. I didnt try m9re had to system restore to make it the way it was before.

    Now I've just set poolsize to the values mentioned above, I used those before just thought those extra would help, guess not
    Thanks,

    Never saw those 3 values, will give those a try, but yeah system restore first.

    Before i was too excited to test all those parameters at once and forgot to do it and then i had to use much older restore, luckily was only 2 days old.

    Memory Speed Has a Large Impact on Ryzen Performance

    AMD has launched their newest enthusiast and high-performance processors called Ryzen, that shouldn’t be news to anyone anymore. The launch went pretty smooth, but reviewers did complain a bit about the comparable low performance when it comes to 1080p gaming, among other things.

    The whole issue seems a bit weird as the CPUs perform so great in other areas, but then again, most games are optimised for Intel processors. However, that’s not the only reason. As more and more people get their hands on the new processors, both professionals and consumers, more and more tests are run and people experiment with the possibilities.

    One thing that has come from that, is that it looks like memory speed has a big impact on the Ryzen performance – bigger than usual. Users are seeing big score improvements as they overclock their memory.
    Geekbench scores Single-thread scores have been reported 10% faster with 3466MHz memory over 2133MHz memory and Multi-thread scores climbed from around 31,700 to over 33,000.
