The AMD Ryzen All In One Tread /Overclocking/Memory Speeds & Timings/Tweaking/Cooling

Finally found the right settings to get the ram running at 3200. It is no where near the rated timings. Does not appear to be any benefit at running at these timings and at 3200 versus 2933 and the rated timings.
Timing: 18-19-19-39
Ram Voltage: 1.3950v
VTTDDR: .7000v

Do note that the infinity fabric runs at the speed you set your RAM to, so even if your RAM performance is identical at 2933 with the rated timings you'd most likely still be better off running at 3200.

The reason I stated that I saw little to no benefit running at the faster speed was based on practically identical results given the synthetic benchmark results is the spoiler section. The only benefit seen was in the Aida64 memory results; huge gain. The rest of the results were the same. So given the facts about the fabric and the article Onna linked, the conclusion is that the other benchmarks presented are not dependent on the fabric or memory speed.

The first time I saw "infinity fabric" I initially thought it was something from Guardians of the Galaxy.

 

Was curious how the current setup would do with the original FEAR.

Resolution: 1920x1080
Minimum: 30FPS
Maximum: 36FPS

Everything set to maximum including the volumetric lighting setting.

Previous rig with the current gpu could not handle volumetric lighting being enabled. Would work for about five minutes then everything would slow to a crawl; completely unplayable. This current rig did not slow down at all. Everything stayed smooth. Surprised at the FPS results from the internal "benchmark."

On the US site, it is only under 8 and 8.1 64bit

UK site only has it under win 10 64bit

I'm playing with it atm. Been able to bump ram frequency to 2666MHz from 2400MHz at least, can't seem to get it any higher but i'll have to give it another try later. Going to do some benching now to test the actual system stability.

 

US still has it under Win 7 but that shouldn't really matter assuming that the bios files are exactly same.

 

The internet gremlins are afoot.

 

Offset voltage is no longer working as intended for me with BIOS 0604. My vcore used to drop to 0.5v-0.7v while idling, now it never goes below 1.35v.

 

OT but reran the FEAR benchmark myself for comparison because those figures felt way too low...

by default with everything maxed (including 4xFSAA and Soft Shadows) I got between 40-60 fps results. However the worst run gave around 13-14 fps (the slowing down to a crawl you mentioned).

Then I did the trick you need to do with FEAR with Win 7 and newer ie disabled all "HID compliant..." devices from Device Manager.

Behold, minimum fps was around 240, average 500 and max almost 999

I suggest you try it out too... you might be in for a surprise
(also might just as well replay FEAR now that it's reinstalled...)

 

I had the same thing with my Asrock, you will need to OC by adjusting Pstate0 instead of in the main BIOS menus most likely. But only change the speed, not the voltage, then the offset will work when changed in main OC section, bit stupid really.

I updated my bios to the new 0604 and my memory won't boot at 2666. I am stuck at 2400. I have tried ProcODT (not all values), Vdd soc (>1.2), change timing but without success.
Any advice?

 

You can always try 3200 Mhz with 18 - 18 - 18 -18 42 timings. It should work pretty well.

EDIT

If you can't get 3200 to work then try 2933 MHz.
I'm currently running 2933 MHz with 18-18-18-18-42 timings.
I just flashed the 0604 BIOS, but it doesn't mention anything about memory compatibility so I haven't tried anything else than 2933 MHz ...yet.

 

Along with all that, try VTTDR starting at least half of the ram voltage with the max setting at 1/2 ram voltage +.2v.

EDIT: In my case, since cannot flash back to a prior bios version, staying clear of 0604 for now.

 

on a side note, anyone know what the header between the RGB header and the bios chip is? It is literally right next to the bios chip and there is no information about it in the manual. ASUS has not gotten back to me about it yet.
