Awesome , finally you have it up and running. Keep tweaking your Ram there is performance to be found in it :) , keep sharing your progress and findings that might help the new comers.

Thanks for the update , i do not think they have release any Bios as of yet with the new Agesa microcode. Hopefully they will announce when that happens as it will include a whole bunch of fixes and better compatibility with Ram and higher clocks for it supported too.

Awesome , finally Aida64 supports correctly Ryzen 7 CPUs , nice find.

Samsung B-die memory tends to be low Cas latency with even numbers ( example DDR4-3200Mhz 14-14-14-34 or 15-15-15-34. ) Cas latency on DDR4-3000Mhz ~ 3200Mhz at 16 or higher tends to be Hynix Dual Rank memory ( example: DDR4-3200Mhz 16-18-18-36 or 17-18-18-36. )
    Look here:
Confirmed cheap Samsung B-die Single Rank memory kit - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232229

Confirmed cheap Hynix Dual Rank memory Kit - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233859

I'll see if i can make a list of the kits that are confirmed using Samsung memory and post the the findings on the first page

Looking forward to your built , post some nice pictures and share your findings and overclocks.

I was told from Charles ( extremesystems.com forum owner ) that Samsung E-die to be more or less as good as B-die , it was tested by him , extreme systems owner Charles ( Fugger ).

Go with the Asrock Gaming K4 , bclk not needed to reach 4.0Ghz on cpu or higher. Higher memory clocks and more memory configuration are coming with the new Bios with the new Agesa code , hopefully to be released soon. As per the Kraken NZXT X62 go for it , i have heard good things about that AIO water cooler.

Great to hear you are finally sorted out your problems. We all are learning the ins and outs of this new platform , will keep learning more and more as the days go by. MSI customer support has been great to me in the past too , highly recommended.

I am eager to post my first experiences... when everything is here... :wanker:

Although, I don't know yet how I will set this thing up.
It's either Fedora only ... or some multiboot (out of benchmark interest only).

but 2 x 16 it is said thay give problems as it is impossible to rise them up to 3200 cause they are dual rank.

So here are some results after some more in depth testing now that i got some time:

Motherboard: ASUS Prime x370 Pro 0511 Bios
    RAM: G.Skill F4-3466C16D-16GTZR (8Gbx4)
    CPU: Ryzen 1800x

I've managed to get all 4 banks of memory clocked at 2666Mhz 16-15-15-15-30 1.28500v. The memory is rated higher obviously, but this is as high as i can overclock at the moment and the lowest i can keep the voltage at.

CPU was overclocked to 4.124Ghz with VDDCR CPU Current Capability set to 110%. This got pretty hot under my H100i V1 and the core was reaching 83c @ 1.6v!! dialed that puppy back down lol. Put it through a Corona benchmark but i dont think it would be stable for any longer than 3-4 minutes at that level.

Yeah I think i'll keep my E-die's, I saw a kit 2x16GB for an awesome price 300$ Cad, that's about 225$ USD! Corsair LPX 3200Mhz rev 4.31 (B-Die) But being 2x16GB it sucks but I think I'll pass, there's no way to be sure it is going to be fixed... though maybe I could lower CAS on 'em?

So add this as well for people Corsair Vengeance, be it LPX or LED ver 4.31 are B-die. So if you can phone a store to confirm or see one you'll know.

Another question... B-Die are 8GB and E-Die 4GB, does that mean per side? Cause if it is it would mean that the E-Die I got is Dual Rank? If not, what does it mean?

    Thanks!

Was stubborn. Managed to boot to desktop utilizing DOCP 3200 setting. Had to raise the DRAM voltage to 1.395, last yellow setting before turning violet. Was not comfortable with setting voltage to 1.400, first violet setting. Unfortunately the ram failed the Aida64 stress test after 7 minutes. Back down to 2933 till a better bios arrives.

Hopefully once we can set the command rate and change from 1T to 2T we should be able to do the advertised speeds of our RAM.

My 2x16GB Corsair LPX 3200CL16 are happily running at 2666mhz 14-15-15-30, I could run them at 2993mhz 18-20-20-40 but benchmarks were faster at the lower speed with tighter timings.

Wait with extreme OC some more Bratan'
At last until BIOS mature etc.
Besides that V :bang: wait until it get ~1.45v for 4.1GHz (YES is possible)

Now everything is so fresh, but it's also Verry good -> no BSODs at all

ASRock just posted a new bios for their Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming motherboard, 1.93D. Huge revision jump, wonder if THIS one has the microcode. Only mentions "Improve XMP DRAM compatibility." in the changelog

All the x370 boards have had bios updates around the same time, same versionings etc. I guess they are all basically the same apart from specific bios module differences. The Professional Gaming got 1.93D, whereas the Taichi which has had the exact same version numbers until now got 1.94A.

The 'D' and the 'A' suggests these bioses have gone through heavy testing, which would probably mean they are quite major updates whilst still being classed as 'beta'. Their other X370 boards don't have these yet but I suspect they will soon.

Yes everything is still fresh but we are getting there slowly but surely :)
My ram is wicked fast at those low timings so hopefully I can't tighten them a little more with newer bios versions.

Tonight I'll spend some time with getting the vcore down on the CPU when at 4.1ghz. I'll see what I can drop it down to until it fails.

Thank you for sharing that information on the Corsair memory. As per Samsung memory there are 3 variants of Samsung ics - Samsung B, C, and D die all of them been Single Rank meaning that they have memory chips only on one side of the pcb = Single Rank. All of them variants Samsung B, C, and D die are good in Ryzen CPUs as per Charles ( Fugger at extremesystems.com ) own testing.

You are doing fine there Closeau , like OnnA said , better wait for Bios update with Agesa microcode that will help Ram overclocking. Keep up the good work , and thank you for sharing your experiences , feedback.

Enjoy the overclocking ride and tweaking OnnA , keep posting your findings those are very useful for everyone , thanks OnnA.

In the next few hours/days coming up they will be many Beta bios updates as i can confirm motherboard vendors are working very hard at the moment with the new Agesa microcode. Thanks for posting your findings. I need to update and refresh those new Bios on the first page.

Keep tweaking and overclocking there is a lot of performance to be found there. I'm running some tests right now and rewriting the Manual Overclocking guide that will be posted on the first page.

I will give you guys a quick preview on my new findings. Guys take a look at the memory/read/write/copy/latency scaling as well as take a deeper look at the L1/L2/L3 cache scaling while overclocking the CPU and Memory , the jump in performance is great and it does translate into a real bump in performance boost all across the board on my testings. I will need some more time for testing real games , software scaling performance to be had with this findings of CPU , Memory , North Bridge , Fabric and BCLK overclocking but it's looking better and better as i keep testing , very interesting tweaks i have found. It will be all posted in the first page once i finish the manual overclocking guide. There is a lot of potential left at the table , untapped performance boost and lots of gains to be had. The future is looking brighter and better for Ryzen 7 CPUs :) in the gaming department. With that said look at the numbers of the new Aida64 i'm about to post. You can download the latest Aida64 version with Ryzen cpu support here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/aida64-download.html

    Here is a little preview.

Ryzen 7 1700x CPU overclock at 4107.44Mhz and memory overclock at DDR4-3328Mhz Cas 14-14-14-34 1T , North Bridge overclocked at the same speeds of the memory as they are tied together meaning when you overclock the memory to higher Mhz both benefits at the same time as well as the infinity fabric between the CCX.

Click the spoiler for a bigger clearer picture.

Ryzen 7 1700x CPU overclock at 4138.54Mhz and memory overclock at DDR4-3352Mhz Cas 14-14-14-34 1T , North Bridge overclocked at the same speeds of the memory as they are tied together meaning when you overclock the memory to higher Mhz both benefits at the same time as well as the infinity fabric between the CCX. Look at that memory bandwidth go way up as well as L1 , L2 and L3 cache numbers go up too :)

I need a favor from you guys , please download Aida64 latest version and post a picture here on this thread after running Aida64 Cache and Memory benchmark with a cpu tab open with your CPU overclocked as well as memory overclock speeds and timings tab. Help me get this thread fill with information and data to back up our findings , your contribution to this thread it's greatly appreciate it.

    Kind Regards: Angelo

So mobo checked in (MSI B350 Tomahawk) and already updated to final bios 1.2 and all looks good. Findings with this bios:

    - Altough you can activate the function, the memory profiles do not work.
    - The Fans controllers looks to be not so smooth as before -> improvement required here.

The System loks to be stable.

Sorry buddy, didn't read your msg earlier.

My first 1700 was doing 4.0GHz @ 1.4v just setting the vcore to 1.4v pretty much, didn't need anything else to be 100% stable through all tests and benchmarks. Afterwards I fine tuned it, disabled Global C-States, CP Boost, RAM speed to 2666MHz, tightened timmings to 13-13-13-30 and some other minimal tweaks.

    *** Updates for today March 29 , 2017 ***

Added informational links to websites for specifics on memory kits configurations / models and makers on the first page , also i added a very handy program that will tell you exactly what kind of memory you are running on you Ryzen system - Download link here: http://www.softnology.biz/index.html

Press the Read button and select one of the SPD EEPROM devices to read SPD binary data , the most important information that we need to look at is highlighted in red on the picture below , that's my Samsung / B-die / memory from G.Skill. Check you memory , example below:

I will provide a few places where you can look for specific Memory configurations , model and maker to give you a heads up on what type of memory ICs are used on those kits. Look for Samsung B-die , C-die or D-die in that order as those are the best to be paired with Ryzen CPUs:

    E-die, single rank.

Was running fine at 2666MHz on previous 0505 BIOS tho.
Running at 2400MHz @ 12-12-12-30 on BIOS 0511, can't get them any higher unfortunely.
