    The truth and nothing but. The 7950x was definitely an underperformer for me as well. In all my years of building systems I never seen such large discrepancies with different games and performance. I'm almost finished with my new Intel system. My 3090, 10900k and 64gb DDR4 3600 gave me a better experience with some games than my AM5 build. I was bummed!

    Here is proof. With these settings on Intel the framerates range from 80-110fps at native 4k, max settings and Very High Raytracing. Below are the framerates on AM5 with the 4090. Abysmal to say the least.

    How many other games will have a problem on AM5? AM4 is absolutely amazing so I just don't understand what happened.

    My 13900k and Strix Z790 board installation is almost complete. This will be a relief.

    I just caught on a little quicker than you did.RTX 4090 runs fine with Intel. Weird thing though I used a 12600K and a 13700KF and the 12600K gave me better FPS. I hope the 13700KF gets better with some patches.
    AMD is my favorite platform and the AMD 7700x was my favorite CPU to date but if you are not up to the task,time to go.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

    I had to quote myself due to manning up and admitting my faults. Fellow Guru @endbase researched and found an update was released for my motherboard on the 21st. The update equipped the X670E-A with various new functions and now my 4090 performs as it should. It is a beautiful sight.

    I expressed much disappointment regarding the 7950x and AM5. I was wrong. I encountered a huge lack of framerates and became frustrated. All I had to do was wait about 9 days after my build.

    AM5 is looking and feeling pretty darn awesome right now! My framerates in multiple titles have doubled and tripled due to the BIOS update.

    Thanks again @endbase

    I now have to make a decision about the Intel parts that were purchased. Microcenter may give me the boot.

    @bobnewels

    You sold your parts long before the update so no way would you have known fellow Guru. Man talk about timing. I started disassembling and I purchased the 13900k along with a new mobo. I gotta make a decision. lol. It's hard. AM5 is delivering the goods.

    Gotcha. You did say there was problem in other post. I tell ya man, for a moment this was scary.

    I'm going to do some benchmarking tonight. I just got home. Awesome Cyberpunk vid btw.

    TLDR, 16 e-cores use more power than a 5950X, for less performance.

    When I see those 5800X3D's going for about 250 second hand I will get one, I just hope it's not in another 10 years.
    But yeah, one of those will go nicely with my B450. :)
