Thanks mate, that's good to know :). I will get another one if still available in my place. But i am thinking since my mobo only support pci-e 8x 8x if running SLI or crossfire...do you think pci-e 2.0 running at 8x will bottleneck this card? anyone?

If in the UK, then Dabs have got the XFX and VTX in for only £439, seems about the cheapest, but ive never used those before :)

Yep I got 3 they are very fast, couple of games i have trouble with Metro and Crysis 2 maxed out and my Graphics cards are at 60% and my CPU is only at 60% so maybe driver problem or in metro case probably not optimized.

Ordered HIS 7970, was cheapest there was and considering they all reference enough said. Mind you atm paying $729 AUD in my opinion is outrageous but i had to have one or two.

yeah those guys are some crasy pro's
I cant do that to my card it will only be here a short time and i cannot deface it in anyway.

I have found with the bios flash for software the higher mem voltage\clocks is only good for 03 and vantage the other benches will have nothing to do with them.1800 is the limit for ram before i start to lose points.

I did have a cold night and was able to bench 1260+ in most benches with 1.21v set any higher will crash it still.
idle is 20c loads up to no more the 55c

Unlocked msi ab and did a bit more testing.

    2600K @ 5GHz in both.

    1220/1650 (6600MHz) voltage 1.243

Memory increase doesn't seem to make much of a difference there.

    Well shes finally in :D

Had a right mare getting the 6970 out, took me about half hr :p

Gave good old 3D Mark 11 a quick run through to make sure she was running fine, and got 7,262 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2564189 , which is probably about right, as everything is running at stock (at present) :)

Now with my 6970 not working with any newer CCC than the 11.7's (any higher buggered my clocks up as they changed the Overdrive), i tried that one on the 7970, but it wouldn't install, had to install the new one that the drivers came with, and it reports my idle clocks of 300/150, so could someone confirm thats correct please ?

EDIT: Don't think its going into 3D clocks, as that 3d mark screenie says clocks are 300/150 ?

EDIT2: Actually, it may be going into 3D clocks, as just checked one of my old 6970 screenshots, and that gets reported as it runnnig at 0mhz Core, 0mhz Memory, and surely, if the core and memory clocks were not going into 3D, then at 300/150, i wouldn't be getting over 7k would i ?
