Um... I was.. I had a Riva TNT2 and Voodoo2 and the first GeForce 256.

I still think it is junk today I mean how many of these old cards are there on eBay and they're not selling (ok not so many GF256 lol)

9800Pro for me. It was top of the line for about 2 years.

ok if we're talking about nostalgia factor maybe it is my old 6800 vanilla. Unlocked it to 16 cores and it ran for a year and died.. then MSI RMA replace it with a 6800 Ultra.. lol win :)

Gainward Riva TNT 2 Pro, Gainward GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128MB AGP8x GS and Gainward GeForce 6800 GT GS (which was crap model, in the end got PNY 6800 Ultra which was 425MHz GPU version - awesome) wowed me the most. Before that TNT 2 Pro my system had ATI RageIIc graphics de-accelerator (since software rendering was faster), I couldn't believe how well games run and looked after I got that card!

My vote for 'best of all time' goes to the 8800GTX even though I never owned one. Man, that was one helluva card; still runs most modern games decently from what I hear, and this thing was released in 2006!!! That's something special right there.. :)

^Yeah I just retired my GTX not too long ago.....could still run pretty much any game I threw at it...owned it longer than any other card I've had... :)

Even gave it a new life by baking it, after it died..

I'll also have to add the 6800 NV40 for the fact it could be unlocked...

That was a fun read, sure took me back. Although i never actually owned a single one of the cards listed i loved reading the reviews here at guru3d and always dreamed of one day actually being able to afford buying one. I guess now i am living that dream with my H20 cooled 6950's :)

^My 6950 is the only new card I've had, all the rest have been bought second hand... :)

Same here, just a shame that a slow CPU/crappy PSU ruined the experience a bit and led to it dying a horrible death... but yes it was one of the best cards I've ever had... along with the 3Dfx Voodoo Banshee 16mb...

Would even include my current HD 4870 1GB, performance wise at least. :)

No kidding, i've had new cards just never highend stuff really, its only been the last couple years. My very first graphics card was some 1MB Cirrus Logic thing then i managed to persuade my dad to buy an S3 Virge 4MB 3D accelerator card, think it was a Voodoo3 2000 PCI card next (which i still have) then some Radeon thing that came with a dell PC my dad bought the family.

Weren't until many years later after i moved out and got myself a machine i started to get good graphics cards paid for with my own earned cash. The card that came with my MESH Computer however was an 8500GT (was a bit out of the loop then) needless to say i was dissappointed, so i saved up and bought an 8800GTS G92 maybe a year later got the Asus GTX275 and then Xmas last year bought me two HIS 6950's only just recently got em under water.

I like looking back to all the old hardware i once had, in fact i've actually got my old PC from dads here with me now. Been meaning to get it all running again, perhaps play some Quake II on it again :)

I loved my 4870 when I had it, loved it even more when I crossfired it with another one.

voodoo 3 was my first card that ever played most of my games without major issues or glitches. I'll never forget running Unreal on that card, my jaw dropped.

My favorite cards were the 9800 pro, X850 XT, and now my GTX 275.

I've also owned an FX5200 (horrible) HD3850 (pretty good card really) and a 7900 GS (average)

The X850 probably was the most surprising as it could play oblivion at high settings minus HDR, and gave me over 100 fps in HL2!
