hy guys, i noticed that my gpu temperature goes up to 70-71'C when i watch full hd and hd movies also my core and memory switch to 3d, isn't this a bit to extreme for a gtx480? i mean this card doesn't need to run at maximum speed to run a 1080 movie, my old hd5850 only increase to 2D with higher frequency..to run a 1080 movie. anyone else with a gtx480 care to share the temps when watching hd movies? is this a driver bug or just the gtx480 screwed up bios...?
It's the same for me only if i watch my HD movies on my big screen HDTV...my temp goes to 63-66C with full 3D frequencies for my gpu. For ex: if i watch the movie on my LCD the gpu it's cooler and with 2D frequencies...
Use nvidia inspector to force 2d clocks, that is also useful if you're using a dual monitor setup where the clocks never go to 2d speeds.
