I agree with the blu-ray compatibility issue, I had to buy a new Blu-Ray player today to replace my 12 month old one because a Blu-Ray wouldn't work ( yes it seems strange to update because of 1 disk, but where there is one, more will follow ). Updating isn't that bit a deal IF IT WORKED, my player would recognise the USB...but not the file on it....aka the firmware update :S I like Blu-Ray players as a whole though. If a higher res standard for TV's and disks comes in within the next 10 years i'll be pissed though, like PC hardware I want a plateau. /rant. Hates: Facebook - Every comment, from every person on there gives me cause to abuse them for their stupidity or arrogance. I-Pods - My god I hate them, limited format playback, proprietry peripherals, I-Tunes is terrible, you should be able to copy and paste everything onto the player, but new versions don't play that $#!+. DX11 - Massive let down, enough said. TV- I'm refering to the programming, not the hardware, my TV has not been connected to an aerial for about 5 years. I watch dvd's and blu-rays etc. Radio - Same deal, ALL stations program terrible music, occasionally i find out about new bands on the internet etc, but I don't care for the music rat race anymore either, I already own 500 cd's, ( all originals ) I don't care if I only listen to those for the rest of my life, I have so many that I always opt for the same cd's anyway, 90% of them ill never be listened to again, music these days is all just a fad... Mobile Phones - I have bought credit once in the last 23 months, I have to recharge every 12 months to keep my number active, i am due to recharge soon. My phone's primary/only function is as a reliable alarm, I don't even take it with me when I leave the house. When signing up to various things aka video store, online service they often require tha you provide a phone number, so it is useful for that. The above 3 - phone, radio and tv, have all been replaced by the intenet, you can communicate in better and more varied ways online, and often without the content filters / charges etc that regular media provide / require.
I cant help but agree with everything on page, I rant about the s**t constantly. Strange that nerds like us have more of a life than the "socialites" on twitter. Might I ask why tabbed browsing sucks? It conserves memory by running in the same process, but it could posibly hurt performance. I dont know for sure. and about HD, alot of channels like Discovery zomm in on SD and somehow consider it HD, but it looks even worse because stuff is cut off and because of pixel rounding. Other channels use a panoramic mode ( which make no sense, it doesnt look better in any way). The idea that they claim it HD is disgusting and insults our intelligence.
Spatical interface is soooo 1995 and soooo inefficent, I hate it with a vengence, too much d*mn clutter. I dont know, you do whatever you want.
Tabbed browsing is the best thing that has happened to Internet browsers, ever. Couldn't live without it.
Whattt- tabbed browsing is great- particualy in the forums as its quicker to navigate back to the main/ sub menus using it
tabbed browsing is awesome, its also one of the reasons why i prefer Total commander over explorer. i wish everything could be tabbed
I hate bluetooth. I just don't like it, i use it, i need to use it, but i don't like having to use it. It's slow, the range sucks unless you use Class1, and not many devices are class1, the dongles/adapters sure, but headsets and other devices? all class 2. I've had only bad luck with it. I mainly use it as a wireless serial port, except most programs aren't compatible with RFCOMM from a bluetooth virtual serial port. Just a pain in the butt.
facebook - mainly when you tell people you don't have an account and they look at you bemused and whine how they couldn't fucntion without it, I can only assume the majority of facebook users were dropped on their head at birth or contracted a mental illness when they signed up to the service. :3eyes: I like tabbed browsing though
push button car ignitions - inserting a key and turning it is too difficult for people ? kids with cell phones - every pre-teen I've seen and know has one. it's just gonna destroy the learning process for kids. think about what you can do with it in school. they're gonna grow up to be idiots that can't spell right right, right ? they'll use right when it should be write and crap like that. it's just something you should know before you're 13, but most kids don't even know that by 13, so what else don't they know ?
Easy. Mobile phones, never needed them for 42 years, so why should i need one now. Everyone knows that im at work, so if an emergency, they know where i am. Now if they did one that had all the functions, but no phone, then id be happy to have one.
