Performance tip, lowering shadow map size from high to medium gave me +16fps and you almost dont notice the diference. I play at a modest 1600x900, all high except shadow mapping thats on medium and in areas outside were i was geting 40fps now i have 56fps and its very playable for the time.

I hope someone will find a way to disable it completely, it really makes the graphics worse than it should be...

Have you read the quote in my post? It comes from the Reddit link you posted (there was an update). The chromatic aberration is still present when you play with this tweak, it is only removed in some situations, but not everywhere.

Runs very well here after reducing LOD to half and shadows down a notch.
    Everything else maxed.

50-60fps at 1080p. It should run better considering how it looks though, definitely not the best optimized game I've ever seen.

Has anyone found a weakness to the Volatiles? I know UV stuns them and what not. But they still take a hell of a beating to kill.

    Yeah it will be.

That's a separate effect from the normal in game one, it's tied into a blur, I found that one while browsing around, it's probably what I was trying to null myself.

Oh well, back to square one.

I think jonas was on the right idea, but screw fiddling with hex editors, surely they will notice the complaints and patch it.

Worst game engine EVER. Dat CPU load :puke2:
To think of it the only game that fully utilizes Cpu cores+HT is a three year old game called Crysis 3. Thats why I support Cryengine.

Do what has been posted a few times. Once the game is loaded open task manager and uncheck CPU 0 under Affinity. Tab back in game, give it a few seconds, then re check CPU 0. Much better load balancing.

Hopefully they can patch it to avoid those steps.

Edit: Has anyone been able to Rupture one of the air tanks on the hazmat zombies like all the gameplay videos pre launch? Where the blow up/zip around? Nothing works for me.

Considering most games don't really use multi thread/load balancing to begin with. This game actually doing it (albeit from a work around) isn't that bad.

Trying to find the save file location, anyone know where it's at?

    got it D:\Games\Steam\userdata\6558817\239140\remote\out

Now to see if I can transfer my save from the downloaded version, something tells me no.

    edit, yes, you can! fantastic

If you guys having stuttering and lag spikes even when fps near 60, make sure windows power plan set to "High performance". (i also disabled coreparking on "high performance" power plan).

When i was testing, no matter whan settings i tried, it was stuttering and lag spiking every 2 3 secs, than i changed from Balanced power plan to High performance. And all gone away. Great game so far.

    Game was using core 0 2 4 6 only, after change, its using all of them 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Think I'll pick this up on payday. Loved the Dead Island games and this looks like a blast!
