i would like to see next gen combat also, like you said it feels a lot like dead island.
Night time actually looked pretty terrifying. I'll keep this on my radar. Can't say I liked Dead island all that much, but I thought the melee and damage mechanics in that were great.
Why is that a bad thing? Dead Island combat can be good, they little overdone it but still decent.
With this engine and decent combat this can be really good....even now i am amazed.
The FOV is horrible though just like Dead Island... i can't stand this horribly norrow FOVs.
Dying Light - Night-time Gameplay Walkthrough
Looks great, I just hope they give us an option to turn off the Sniper 2 type xray damage.
I have no interesting in knowing if I broke a bone when killing a zombie.
I like how free flowing the game is, much improved from the first two, I'll have to follow this closely
Breaking bones is key to the melee combat.
If you break their arms, they can't swing at you... break their legs, they can't chase you.
Break their color bones, they can't hit you as strongly...
It's a much more involved version of the combat system in place in Dead Island. And breaking bones is key to getting past stronger enemies.
Yeah but I still say there's no need for it. At least an option to turn it off.
If the collision detection and animation is good enough, it's not needed. Plus it looks stupid and ruins the immersion for me.
looks like mirrors edge meets l4d
More like Mirror's Edge + Dead Island.
Looks awesome, huge potential on this one.
A number of screenshots, looks like they're using that chromatic aberration effect a bit too heavily.
I doubt you'd recognize it in the heat of the action. This looks like an excellent game.
That and Chrome engine has been pretty easy to tweak and modify before, shouldn't be too difficult to lower the effect if desired.
(This is a new version of it though so we won't know until it's released.)
This is on my 99%-sure to be preordered list (which isnt very long)
Wonder if the PC version is a port from the new consoles or old consoles? (probably old consoles, lol). I doubt whether the Xbox One/PS4 versions are ports of the PC version, the process that actually makes sense.
Confirmed delayed until February 2015...
That makes me sad. But, glad at the same time.
