Teamgroup announces their official launch of the world's first DDR5 memory module for desktops, the TEAMGROUP ELITE U-DIMM DDR5, which is estimated to be available on major EC platforms for consumers... TEAMGROUP Releases ELITE U- DIMM DDR5
Like expected first gen DDR5 is a step down or lateral step from DDR4. I certainly wont early adopt. Will be looking to get one of those v-cache Ryzen chips and a 570s motherboard.
If we take those timings and compare it to basic 3600MHz CL16 DDR4 and apply the equation 1/3,600,000,000*16 we get a CAS time of 4.44ns whereas this DDR5 at 4800MHz CL40 is 1/4,800,000,000*40 = 8.33ns which is 1.875 times slower!
