    Ever since yesterday when i switched to intel on board graphics my system tray has disappeared twice now, just happened again.
    When it first happened today and i restarted pc my browser opened automatically up to a random google search i never made.
    You guys think i may be hacked? Been using subscription based vpn for few months now.
    Cheers.

    @DannyD

    Disconnect the system from the net.. then search through it and look for malware.

    For me it would be manually looking through windows system files xD

    mbar can find stuff, I doubt this is igpu going bad.

    Ohhh I just remembered my father had been using a vpn last year and from what I can tell it was the reason for windows update being disabled and fully removed from the pc entirely, that was an interesting experience trying to fix.. haha. gotta love vpn.... iT MaKeS YoU sAfE.

    Done a scan zero threats, it must be igpu software at least it's back now tho.
    I need some kinda security and being a total noob in this regard a vpn is easy enough.

    You could try a windows update to the same build of windows, all your stuff will be kept and programs installed, this would fix any broken windows stuff... I've done this a few times when I gave up trying to fix a problem that just didn't make any sense.

    thats an already fixed windows bug, somehow you're not up to date.

    its caused whenever dpi changes and the people or news and interests are disabled on the task bar.

    first started in 1023
    its been fixed since 1081

    the same bug could manifest on the search bar like

    If i'm using a good vpn then i'm invisible online, if that's not the case lets hear it or what's the point,
    @tsunami231
    Not sure about that one, it was a google search results page opened with a very generic search in the search box, perhaps my own doing i don't think it was anything now just some random strangeness going on. But that together with the lost system tray was a red flag for me.
    google is my home page so probably my own doing, probably clicked one of googles daily topics they have linked to the google logo. It was that kinda subject in the search results.

    Refering to above what cause that?

    As for VPN if you think it truly make invisible and NO ONE see what do when use one, then no amount people tell other wise will change that. IF some one want see what your doing online VPN is not gona stop them at best slow them down or make to much pain to do so. but tracking people active online even with VPN is completely possible.

    IF VPN makes you feel safe use it.
