Morals have little, if anything, to do with religion. Not everyone's lives revolve around religion. Here's the definition of morality for you.... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/morality And here's the definition of moral.... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/moral How is selling one's body, not demeaning? Since when has going to the gym resulted in a disease being passed from 1 person to another?
Yep. People forget about the saloon days in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dora_DuFran Just like with drugs: Make it illegal and gangs will step up to offer the same service, only much more dangerous, expensive and lethal. Make it legal with restrictions and still someone is profiting from it all (tobacco, beer)
Actually far, far more than you think. Pink eye and ring worm are more common that you want to think.
HIV/AIDS, Herpes, Gonorrhea, Syphilis....all of which are common among prostitutes...are also more common that most people want to think. Herpes being among the most common viral infections (infecting the majority of the earth's population). Most "cold sores" are the result of a Herpes type 1 infection....which prostitutes can easily transmit to "customers".... How many prostitutes do you think are going to simply take a day/night off just because they have a "cold sore"??
Not a matter of wanting...for most, it's a matter of being born with. Herpes type 1 is genetically transmittable. Basically, if your parents had it, you have a high likelihood of having it yourself. It's actually the single, most common infection. Herpes type 1 doesn't present visible symptoms in all people. It's actually possible for someone to have it and never know....either through lack of education (most common reason) or lack of symptoms.
There is legal prostitution in the USA...in the state of Nevada. There's even a famous place called the Bunny Ranch where porn stars have been known to work sometimes.
It's unfortunate that you don't see the single most basic point. Prostitution (done by oneself willingly) is a job. A job is a way to get money. It's the easiest (and most brutal IMHO) way for a woman to do money. A man has other ways: black, underpaid, heavy, dirty jobs for exact the same aim. Earn money. Now, if I have prostitutes going about the streets, unwatched and uncontrolled, I cannot help them, I cannot approach them. If I give them a place to congregate, I can easily also use my social workers to help them out, or to understand the reasons. I can prevent violence easier and control the generated traffic. You should see now one of the million reasons why helping them, is helping society.
Let's not play with semantics, shall we? You sell your body and mind every day, it's called a job. If it's touching you're worried about, you have your physical therapists and gynaecologists/urologists. I personally believe that working at a particularly oppressive workplace can be just as demeaning as taking it up the $%^# for cash. Modern-day monotheistic religions all place severe restrictions on sex mainly claiming it's wicked, except under certain approved circumstances, when it's barely acceptable. Look at how long it took/it's taking to simply accept gay people. Compare judaism and its current derivatives, christianity and islam to, say, paganism, where you had sex/fertility rituals, which were quite acceptable, whereas these depressive and oppressive religions abhor sex. Monotheistic religion was the single most severe blow to free thought and science and it set humanity back at least a couple of millenia if not more. I agree that prostitution is a good way to get a disease, but that's why sex workers need to be taken under the wing of the system and given every possible benefit including customer screening, security and increased health care. By being removed from the clutches of the criminal underworld, practitioners of this profession will be eased into normal society and perhaps even gain prestige. In today's world of alienation providing sexual relief is equal to therapy and it is to be respected, not feared and denounced as demeaning. Legalising sex workers allows all this.
Sure, some will gain a pretty decent income from earning, but usually at the price of drug addiction, suicide, and other mental disorders (which contribute as to why they're working as sex workers to begin with). Basically you have all the problems of porn actors. Not all of them are mentally ****ed up, but there's a lot that are.
Mainly because of poor working conditions and treatment both by society and their "employers", not because of the inherent "badness" of their profession.
No, just as with compulsive gambling, alcoholism or drug addiction, legalization just makes the end product a lot "cleaner" compared to the shady illegal equivalent. It's more about what is going on inside a person's head that would cause them to turn to these things. Basically making it illegal makes it a lot worse but you still have the problem. And I'm not suggesting a entire black and white inherit evilness to any of these things, but nobody can seriously say that all of this is only bad because society views it so.
IF a woman wants to be a hooker/prostitute lucky them, decent easy money...they should all just go where it's legal, and be safe about things, USA Nevada for example it's legal through whole state with the exception of Vegas not quite sure about laughlin. However that doesn't stop adult entertainment agencies from providing female entertainment with 1-800's straight to your door delivery, the loophole is, price of entertainment is based on entertainment and covers every form of entertainment the girl is willing to do, however the sexual happenings are "free" *wink* Outside the illegal zone: Been to the bunny ranch a few times myself, not always to get my rocks off, but sometimes just to chill. Free entry (least it was when I went) Bar, nice and very Clean lounge (Just like Legal Porn here, all workers are required to do regular testing for STD's and Other stuffs), can freely approach and talk to any of girls not 'working' just for fun without fear of getting mobbed by Bodygaurds (unless you are being a drunk dick inside and out physically and mentally), pool and hottubs, free/paid shows. Also since each girl is an independent contractor, there's often a high chance if a chick digs you, well you might just get escorted by a group of lovely ladies to an unknown location, or..dragged in handcuffs with ropes/chains, anything goes if both parties are willing. Gotta say a Drive-In/Drive-thru brothel still seems like a silly idea as a legit 'business' model and probably always will, but gotta wonder if the moonlight bunny ranch or the north ranch will ever adopt a Drive-thru alternative. BTW- if anyone happens to go to the Moonlight, the massages are great (An All Around the World Massage in the Asian Wet Room give it a try.) as is pretty much everything there :kissin::mhp::whip:uch::banana::bed:
Yes they can. We're more deeply indoctrinated by religion that we'd care to admit, even unbelievers such as myself. Freud would have been out of business if not for the stigma and feelings of guilt attached to sex. As for comparing sex with compulsive gambling and alcohol addiction, sorry that just isn't so? Sure, there are sex addicts, but having sex does not make you one, just like having a drink does not make you an alcoholic.
