New windows 8.1 catalyst is out, maybe some SWEETFX fix for windows 8.1 will appear soon - I hope!
I´ve put all the files in the main folder, and the dll in the win folder, and it crashes
Can you tell me where to put them exactly please?
just put everything in your bin folder.
I'd like to say that I enjoy re-stating the 8.1 issue but I really don't and it would definitely be nice if people searched the thread before posting about the issue. That said driver updates wont help solve the issue, CeeJay has also stated on the previous page that it will need a new injector to fix the issue.
Only tried it in DX9.
I'm sorry to re-post my issue but I can really use some help.
I can't get Sweetfx (1.4) to work on any Source engine games - I've put everything in place, running as admin and a log.log is created but the games crash.
I was wondering if you can help me solve this.
Here's a great video that explains what causes aliasing for those of you who might be curious
apparently nobody here plays source mods since there hasnt been a reply to this issue ever since my last post on this
btw i too would like to see what is possible on outlast with sweetfx, post your tweaks guys
Just tried Team Fortress 2, which worked previously.
It no longer works. Valve have changed something.
The correct installation is no longer:
\steamapps\username\team fortress 2\bin\ for d3d9.dll and injector.ini
and \steamapps\username\team fortress 2\ for everything else
They've changed paths.
\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin\ for d3d9.dll and injector.ini
and \steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\ for everything else
I suspect the rest of the source games have been changed in a similar way, but I don't have time to install them all and try it out now.
maybe it's because of this steampipe thing?
SweetFX works like a charm with source engine and mods..
Its also all stated in the "Game_compability.txt" that comes with SweetFX..You guys just have to read it
The same with any other source games..
I tested it on black mesa, fakefactory, and all other mods i downloaded..
SweetFX works fine , i've used it for HL² lately , just put everything in the bin folder and it should work as it should (Boulotaur2024 version)
Thx for the link ,very informative stuff
sweetFX doesn't work with windows 8.1 rtm
I have moved the files to the new directory like CeeJay said, it still crashes.
I've tried using all sweetfx injectors (the standard one, Boulotaur's injector and Sweetfx configurator) and it always crashes. A log is created but only shows the path to the bin folder.
I've tried placing only d3d9 and injector.ini in the bin folder, placing all in both main and bin folders, and placing all files in the bin folder and the result is the same.
This occurs on all source based games (not mods) I've tried with AA turned off.
I am running as admin on windows 8 and I've tried using compitability mode to windows 7 and xp with no change.
Any idea on how to solve this?
Turn everything that's OSD related off.
If MSI afterburner hooks a dll or something, source and many other games crash for me.
Your suggestion worked - MSI afterburner was the cause of the crash (Steam overlay works fine).
I did what the readme said about making in compitable so I never though about it being the problem.
Now everything works smooth and looks great!
Thank you so much!
Known issue with dx11 on win 8.1 since preview, will need a new injector to fix it. DX9 works just fine however.
Please read the thread before posting them same issue guys.
i need a sweetfx that works with d3d overrider
You can't expect people to read through 60+ pages. Let's be realistic about this. Maybe an FAQ update is in order.
