anyone working on TR greyish problem besides Öhr? sometimes it's difficult to see some screen corners, it looks really bad.

for me, it keeps looking bad even with his swfx setting.

i don't know how to fix it. it has something to do with gamma i think. i've managed to make it look better but i don't know if i'm modifying the right settings. i'm using, tonemap exposure, increasing midtones and hightlights and decreasing shadows from lift gamma and hdr

Not without otherwise hurting image quality which will probably be worse than the grain.

To reduce or remove noise I would do a median filter.
Lots of image editors can do a median filter so you you can try that on a screenshot of Hitman Absolution and see how that looks for you.

If you don't have a program that can do a median filter then I suggest the one in Irfanview (it's a popular image viewer)

It does remove noise but also removes details.

do your ingame visuals differ from mine?

either way, here are some possible reasons i could think of at the top of my head:
    1. some strange monitor profile/color profile within windows (located in the control panel for management) or the graphicscard drivers
    2. false black levels for HDMI connection. If your monitor is connected via HDMI to your computer, make sure your display is set to PC mode (might be called differently)
    3. buggy drivers. just update them?
    4. ingame brightness setting wonky. just reset to the default. mebbe it helps
    5. display is horribly calibrated. im using http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ to calibrate mine. i recommend you doing the same!
    6. some overlay (steam, fraps, etc) interfering. disable those

whatever it is, try taking a screenshot and see, if the colors are also recorded as such. might as well upload them then. (sweetfx free for troubleshooting pls)

I didn't oversaturate or increased the contrast to very high levels unlike some other mods, so my shader won't ever make this game into an acid party. if you want lots of color, go play with vibrance. if you want higher contrast, go play with curve. its the easiest to configure and helps you achieve nice results quickly. if you want, you can compensate the greyish/brownish look with gamma gain or tonemap.

P.S. whats the issue with the corners? are you playing on a CRT? ^^

no, it's just that stupid greyish everywhere, it's difficult to see anywhere besides the center of the image when in-game.

also, i'm using sweetfx from radeon pro, i think injectors work in a different way, smaa injector process the image later than RadeonPro. for example, RP screen capture can't take screens from sweetfx smaainjector, but it works with sweetfx RP ones. besides, there's some gamma difference between the same configs of both injection modes. i've posted it some weeks ago.

banding problems maybe caused by gamma.

I'm working on a config. I'm need to use 0.92 gamma from Tonemap but that's all I need so I don't feel like using the Tonemap shader what alternative do I have?

(I'm using DPX and LGG can anything be adjusted there?)

SweetFX causes glitches with Tomb Raider Reborn using DX9 (XP SP3) on nvidia 8800:

    Normal:

    SweetFX:

The glitches disappear when I disable the native postprocessing of the game... but I lose the volumetric (solar) effects of the game and blur effects.

I note that SweetFX not works as last layer of post-processing... Maybe that's why it causes graphics errors, when mixed with the game postprocess.
There will be some form of force to SweetFX as last layer of postprocessing?

    I feel dumb :(

You mean that if I run fraps sweetfx disables itself? damn.
Is there a way to change the screenshot key? I use capslock, it´s more confortable to take shots while playing.

SweetFX does not disable itself, but fraps (and other overlay programs) manipulate directx in the same manner as the injector used in SweetFX - this can cause problems when the programs are not aware of each other.

Sometimes crashes - sometimes the SweetFX effects will not be shown on screen.

You can reconfigure keys in injector.ini.

All of this is explained in the SweetFX readme - I'm beginning to think no one reads it.

Apparently, nobody noticed my last question, on the last page, despite clearly reading several posts after mine. So I'll put it in bold:
Does anyone know how to get SweetFX to work with Unity games?
Any help on this issue would be very nice.
