    Hi,

I want to buy a new SSD mainly for more capacity and for faster loading times for Cities SKylines

My Cities skylines is installed on a Samsung EVO 850 250Gb SSD and loading takes about 9 minutes due to mods etc

My board is an Asus x99-a/usb 3.1 and I think it has an M2 slot

    https://www.asus.com/sg/Motherboards/X99AUSB_31/

Will a Samsung 960Pro M2 500Gb or Samsung 960 Evo NVME 500Gb be a good purchase? Can it potentially cut my loading time in half?

Manual says below in red, what does that mean?

    9 minutes loading time LOL

how about buying more RAM, making a RAM disk and putting all your City Skyline assets there

before that, and before buying M2 etc, you might want to investigate exactly where is your PC spending its time while loading.

yes 9 minutes. My cities skylines is heavily modded with 1349 mods and assets

This is my city. its huge. so yes 9 minutes is reasonable hence im looking if a faster SSD will help

    Thats a beatiful City...
And YES, the 950 Pro, or 960 Evo/Pro will work on your Mainboard:
M.2/M-Key PCIe with NVMe - Every SSD with this spec will work propably, but dont buy a OEM.
Watchout to NOT get an M.2 SATA drive, this will not work.

Thanks for the reply. I got myself a 500Gb Samsung 960 EVO M2 nvme yesterday and re-formatted my system

Im going to install my Cities skylines on it together with my most played games, rest of the steam and origin library goes to my 250Gb 850 Evo SSD
