    Hello.
Yesterday I turned on my computer and instantly noticed that something was off. The resolution which I have always used is now too large for my entire desktop to be shown on the screen. I have to scroll the screen left and right to see everything.

The resolution I've used is 1980x1020, which is exactly what my screen, a Samsung SyncMaster 2233SN, is made for.

I haven't changed any settings and I've already tried reinstalling CCC, but the problem remains.

The best resolution I can run on currently is 1600x1200, but since all my programs are set to 1980x1020, everything malfunctions.

    What could have caused this?

    Sure that's 1920x1080 and not 1980x1020

Oops! Yes, that's the one :p Got them a bit mixed up.

Has this happened to anyone or do you have any idea what could have caused this?

I disabled 'use Extended Display Identification Data' through CCC and the resolution works properly now!

    Problem solved.

an alternative is to check the overscan slider when using HDMI
