Hi guys, another question about my roommate's new rig... So, he's rocking an i5 2500k (which is now clocked to 4.5ghz) and an ASRock z68 board with the UEFI Setup Utility BIOS interface. I have a very strange issue with this BIOS - it won't let me use the number keys to enter values. Neither the numpad (with numlock on/off) nor the regular row of numbers will work. I will click on a field to enter a number, press any number, and many times it will default to a pre-set number (for example, if I hit 1-9 on the number row, the value will show up as '60' or something similar). Even STRANGER is that I can use the '5' key on the numpad. I can enter '5' as a value all damn day long, but nothing else, or else it will default to a pre-set number. Does anyone have any idea WTF is going on with this? I need to enter specific values for PLL and voltage settings to stabilize the OC a little more. PS - another thing that you might find helpful - at one point, randomly, I was able to enter '45' in the multiplier field to get the 4.5ghz working. That was only ONE time of entering the BIOS, never before or since have I been able to use any number keys.
Is your roommate using a Logitech G15 keyboard perhaps? See http://forums.tweaktown.com/asrock/46144-asrock-z68-extreme3-gen3-uefi-keyboard-issue-g510.html Does using another keyboard help?
He's using this keyboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823109077. Haven't tried another keyboard, will do that when I'm home from work.
try plugging the keyboard into the native usb2.0 ports. i had problems getting my keyboard to read properly in the bios when it was in a usb3.0 port. the usb3.0 ports also dislike my game controller layouts.
I have the same keyboard and am using ASRock P67 Extreme6 and don't have any problems. Try other usb ports maybe?
my board same problem with sidewinder x4, bios wont detect me pushing the delete button to enter bios. works fine on front usb ports.
I have the same board as well using a Logitech G19 Keyboard. I have noticed the same issues you are referring to. The only solution I know of at the moment is to turn off Num-Lock, and use the +/- keys to change the values. Its a lot of button pressing in increments of 1 , but it gets the job done. I will jump back into the setup and try to find another solution to this.
