Story of your guru3d name

Hey all.
You lot have some funny, weird, meaningful, random names here on guru3d. What's the story behind your guru3d name?

I've called myself Foamy since the day I saw Foamy from neurotically yours about 8 years ago. He's my favorite toon. The "4" is just because someone picked the name already and it's my favorite number! :nerd:

 

Hy, interesting thread, though my name isn't so interesting. 5 years ago i googled cool antic names and came across isidore (Greek and related to the goddess Isis).

 

Simple, same name as my ebay, hotmail, google & yahoo.

If EVERY email/site had a different name how would I remember them all?

 

Though I have several nicknames I use throughout the Internet\Games, this one I like the most.

It was inspired by very much loved by me fantasy games and books of R.Salvatore... and love for rightful buttkicking and overall paladin-like goodness (in these games\books).

 

Well, my Maori cousins always had a habit of calling someone by their first name and then adding "Dogg" on the end of it.

Plus my character/nature is a bit "Dog" like, so it just stuck.

 

ah ya these threads pop up every now and then. fun to read everybodys backstory im hollywood IRL, my two bros from high school started that mess - its a convoluted story - the nick caught on with nearly everybody. i meet new people, they hear my close friends calling me hollywood, then they start doing it too...

underscores came from CS, cos i went w/o a clan for a long time while pubbing in a competitive community. the meo is a meow, i like cats theres a character limit here

I saw the movie RedOctober and thought what a cool name for a submarine and since I am born in September....

 

The movie was called The Hunt for Red October, submarine in that movie was called Red October. Awesome movie btw.

My nick, Tate (friends call me Tate, had that name for like 10 years or so) was taken so picked up Tat3 which was close enough.

 

Mine is a small tribute to one of the ours greatest ancient leaders.

 

Vinnie, because my real name is Vincent.

 

BLEH! because I'm a fan of black metal and this is a common lyric in various songs. Can also be used as an expression of joy, disgust, a greetings. etc.

 

Well when I created my Guru3D account I was a, well still am, a huge fan of Ghost In The Shell. I filled in the application form okayed it and then saw that 'The Laughing Man' had not actually fitted in the name space. So 'The Laughing Ma' was the final result.

 

This name is the one I came up with back in 2006(?) when I first started playing online after I got my first Xbox. Nothing original - real first name is Adrian but most people call me Ade.

Several names i use. But this one i actually made an account first called Ryusuzaku. For whatever reason i couldn't use it and then created this.

Name i took actually from F-Zero Ryu Suzaku aka Rick Wheeler everywhere else but japan. ^^'

 

Needed a new name for the game Dark Reign 2. At the time I loved Sevendust, and the song denial. Choose it for my name.

I often switch between Denial, Skeksis(Dark Crystal is awesome(SYL song is also awesome)) and K. (counterstrike) which is just short for my name Kevin, or could also mean potassium I guess.

Got put in goal alot at school so picked up Bentez, cross between Ben and Barthez (the old french keeper)
