people really are greedy this year... i mean cmon it's a re-release on their latest engine of one of their most popular games, and it's at the price point of a new indi-game release, it's not expensive at all

quite honestly, if they released all their old titles, i wouldn't expect them to be under 10 dollars, so how would anyone expect a re-release to be under 10 dollars...

Visuals look good, but if memory serves me right the game was pretty linear. I'm not sure it compares well against newer games. Might get repetitive quite quickly.

    Official Serious Sam HD FAQ

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: When will it be out?
A: There is no official date yet (ignore cdv's page(s)), but it's very close to release now.

Q: Why is there HD in the title when we had HD resolutions way back when the original came out?
A: HD does not refer to resolution, but updated visuals. Look around for screenshots and you'll see what I mean.

Q: When is The Second Encounter HD coming out?
A: Soon after The First Encounter HD is out.

Q: Why is there no Serious Sam 3 yet?
A: Serious Sam 3 will follow some time after The Second Encounter HD.

Q: Does the game use Games for Windows Live (GfWL)?
A: Nope, GfWL is not being used after all.

    Q: System requirements?
    A: Check here.

Q: Can I join a game in progress?
A: You can join a game that's in progress just fine. Either find the server in-game or join through the steam friends list.

Q: Is it just me or is the enemy count lower?
    A: It's just you.

Q: Which engine is it using?
A: It's using the brand new Serious Engine 3.

    Q: Bananas?
    A: Pasgetti!

no, because if you followed what i was saying is if they just plainly released their old titles on steam i wouldn't expect them to be under 10 dollars, so re-releasing (not releasing) as in, remaking the game on a new engine, or etc. for 20 dollars isn't bad at all

I hate that question, people keep saying that on steam forums aswell, it's like really....are you that stupid? HD doesn't refer to resolution, HD = High Definition, virtually anything on a game came be made into "high definition" and has nothing at all to do with resolution, such as HD textures, HD models, etc.

yes because you know re-making a game doesn't require any sort of work at all so therefore should be released at a price that is for games that have been out for years, or horribly bad games

Last time i checked, this specific game we are talking about has not even been released....so not many years old, and, 99% likely to be quite nice...

Something you can't grasp onto is this isn't just a "texture update of the original game", they remade it, on a new engine, stop being greedy

25 dollars isn't bad either, i'm surprised it's that cheap actually, the cheapest i thought it would have been was 30 dollars

I tell you what, you make a game, then years down the road, re-make the game, completely from scratch, and sell it for 10 bucks, the same price as the old titles

My brother used to love the original when it was out; mainly because it was one of the few things that worked reliably on his PC, apparently.

Might have to see about picking it up when it's out.

personaly i have no problem paying 20$ for this, and i'll be doing it again when they release the Second Encounter. well worth the money for what i believe we will recieve.
