Not sure how I feel about this change...
1) I cant remove some games from my favorites list
2) steam app hangs many times and i have to force close
I find it strange that the new version gets out of beta within 6 weeks while there are still daily updates of essential fixes going on.
Is there anyway to change the tile sizes for games? As some of the games are still using the old tile images which don't scale to the new tile shape... Really looks horrible.
Anyone have GabeN's corporate email?
We talked about it a bit in the other thread;
"The Future of Steam and other launchers"
If you hate the new library view, want the old library back or just get the small mode view back, it is possible.
Personally, I think the new library update is dreadful and I chose to keep using the old library format.
@CPC_RedDawn ever seen this? https://playnite.link/ I use it - can integrate Origin/Steam/Uplay aio
I spotted that but it only changes the size and not the shape of the tiles as they have moved from a horizontal rectangle to the vertical one, and alot of games dont have updated tile images which look terrible.
This I like.... thanks dude.
Np! it is the bomb my friend'
after some fiddling, steam runs fine for me..
Some tips for better perf. and a nicer library without "Whats new"..
DISABLE HIGH DPI scaling for Steam.exe...
then if needed choose those settings..
The sharpness is back!!!! (Some people had a very blury steam, including me)
Also, i figured out how the "Whats new" works..
If you DONT WANT IT, go into settings-interface-Notify me about additions, changes, bla blablabla bla.. its the last checkbox. UNCHECK it..
Now go back into your Library and right click on each freaking Update "Tile" and choose "Remove Update"..
When you did this to all Tiles it will be gone for good..
Looks sharp and clean now..
Steam is also way more snappier now...
If it helps someone, it was worth the Post..
if theres someone wondering where the Tool Downloads teh Files from... Its directly from Steam.
So, if you want an "CLEAN" UI revert you should act fast since no one knows for how long Steam will have those Files avaiable..
After that, you have to trust someone else with those Files..
There is an option called something like "playable games" where it shows only installed games like how it was before.
Took me a while to find it, but overall the new look is fine for me. Just glad I found that little option.
The new look looked daunting whei I first saw it, but after changing the settings (in settings) to "Low bandwidth mode" (not that I have low bandwidth) and small tiles, I actually started to like it. Clicking the "Show playable games" icon (the little "play" symbol next to the clock icon and the roll-down menu to the top left) also made it easier to navigate.
Also, I can't see "news" anymore! No more worthless titles from RPS and Kotaku!
