It's a random drawing, so the more lumps of coal you have the better your chances of winning. However, a person with 1 or 2 lumps of coal does still have a chance at winning something, perhaps even the grand prize.
I got this today. Holiday Sale 2011 Gift: X-SuperBox. Steam Gift. Includes 6 items: X2: The Threat, X3: Reunion, X3: Terran Conflict, X: Beyond the Frontier , X: Tension, X3: Albion Prelude I'm pretty happy, never had any of these. So far, HL2, -33%, 2 Coal, X-SuperBox.
^ Same. Got 2 coals and 2 tickets (-33 off Valve and -25 off Sega) The worst of all is that i have no credit card nor debit nor whatever to buy games
This gift pile is crap so far. I've gotten a coupon and coal, that's it. Being able to craft the coal would be nice if it weren't for the fact that you have more than double the chances of getting another useless coupon instead of a game.
I'm not even going to bother with this gift pile crap. Already gave away my coal and coupon to a friend who needed those. Pffft...
You can trade 7 of them in for another gift, which would be either a coupon or perhaps a full game. I personally would rather save my coal and enter it into the big giveaway drawing on Jan. 2'nd... winning my top 10 in my Wishlist or maybe even every game on Steam sounds more appealing to me than a bunch of coupons for VALVE Games that I don't want.
I got DOTA 2 just for joining the holiday group, Half Life 2, -25% Valve, -50% Nordic games, and 3 coal will give away HL2 to anyone that wants it
