Since people can't buy GPUs, they are buying VR kits. That's what I did and it was totally worth it. Super fun.

I got Index only after I managed to get new GPU. Setting up Alyx in analog walking mode was such a bad idea. 30 minutes and I was ready to puke. Teleportation mode is much more stable.
But space sims are good as there, one does not use virtual movements of character, only real ones.

GTA V still hitting the Steam top ten almost 6 years after its release on PC, and after having been available for free for a brief period over on Epic Game Store?

The amount of money that game has made must be obscene!

You might get your VR space legs at some point, i thankfully never had any sickness issues and can happily be thrown about in VR no matter the frame rate, love it, but i am not a fan of just teleporting as i need the full fat walking and running, although in Borderlands 2 VR a mix of teleporting and strafing can be a lot of fun. ha

Crazy to see Cyberpunk 2077 still on the list.

I kept my copy as I had over 30 hours played in the first week alone. I was enjoying it a lot more than "most people" compared to the negative press.

I've said it before and I'll say it again I don't think it's the game itself that is hitting the numbers but rather the associated microtransactions are lumped under the same reporting data. It goes a long way to explain why CSGO (which also has a massive bunch of skeevey microtransactions) is always in the top ten.

Yup but also kind of comical to see it getting outsold by the Witcher 3.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. But surely other microtransaction heavy games would hold the other top ten spots if that were the case?

Fair point, I know GTAO still makes huge bank from it's MTs and I know that back in the day Counter Strike had an entire sub economy based around it;s lootbox - key system. No idea just how much other MT heavy games make, How many of those exclusively sell on Steam? CS could appear because it's sales are exclusive to Steam and GTAO most likely because of the sheer scale of the MTs. I dunno I am just spit balling but just find it very hard to believe that after so many years these games are selling the numbers of new copies to keep them in the charts week after week.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was mostly used for money laundering... that is not a joke, that is literally what the game was being used for.

Oh yes, he refunded it after 15 minutes due to bugs but the logic to play more to see more bugs is 100% valid.

I assume the rise of crypto currency has offset that along with the claim by Valve that they have taken action to prevent the entire sub-economy that the game had?
