Well, it is a generic mmorpg... Go there, kill x amount of this... Activate x amount of that.

 

That logic is in every MMO, of coerce. Including single player KOTOR. There are many things that make it unique. Story that actually matters, companions, conversations, choices. Group conversations in flashpoints are interesting too.

By the way, what server are people playing on? At the moment I'm using Hidden Beks but I have reserved characters on Luka sene, Niman and Basilisk Droid.

Well .. i dont have much luck with SWTOR for now.
First, when AA is enabled via .cfg it looks bad (gfx errors), probably happens only on AMD cards, since NVIDIA guys here didnt mention any problems.
My second problem is that game crashes to desktop in few minutes after playing, without any error message.
Since i have fresh windows 7 64bit install im probably out of luck.
Next what im gonna try is play it with Crossfire or single card configuration.

 

Any way of forcing ambient occlusion?

 

Well, not quite that many for sure. I'm really enjoying this game so far.

Haven't tested if AO is possible yet, servers are taking so much beating that waiting 30 min isn't that funny for every test.

 

Think they took out AA out of the game because it was causing issues so I wouldn't mess around with .cfg. Give them some time the game is not even officially launched yet lol

 

8xAA working great for me, no issues.

 

I'm using 12.1 driver on my single 5870 and adjusting settings from control panel works in-game fine.

 

For NVIDIA cards that's the case. As far as I know Radeon users had problems with in game AA. It doesn't looks as good as forced AA.

 

Yea a lot of people are upset at the wait times to get in but keep in mind the game isn't officially launched until the 20th so this is just gravy for those that can play now. If there are these wait times after the official launch then Bioware is going to be ticking off tons of people. And eclap your xp bar will be green I think if you're "resting" instead of yellow.

 

Hmmm... Don't think my xp bar changes when I'm in a resting area. Like when I walk into the jedi temple, it stays the same. If I log out from jedi temple, then come back, it will be different colour, yes, and it will say that I have rated xp. But walking into a resting place doesn't change the bar colour.

 

I'm really liking this game so far, Graphics are not necessarily state of the art but very good. Game seems stable and runs great on my CrossFire 6970's, I think crossfire is overkill for this game as they seem to have targeted an lower/midrange rig and done a fine job.

Time will tell but so far it's great

 

Pre-Ordered this at gamestop... It's been downloading for the past hour, this client is huge ._.

It's about a 20 gig download so unless you have a fast connection it'll be a while.

 

One thing I liked about this release is that I didn't have to download a massive patch after installing the game from dvds... Just hit 10 now let's see what the game offers.

EDIT: I take it all back.. It's 5:22am here and I just finished playing. I'm hooked. love it. play more tomorrow. food and drink also. sleep now.
