seems the cutscenes have more effects enabled and more dramatic lighting then the gameplay. gameplay still looks alright though. thx for the screenshots.

Yeah obviously they have everything turned to 11, but it's still very much the same game :)

You'd have to be running some pretty serious hardware to pull it at 4k 60+ fps with cutscene settings though :p

It appears that my max fps with sli is entirely limited by the sli brigde bandwidth - on the first planet you arrive on, my fps is still the same with sli as it was indoors in the start of the game, where as the fps with single gpu is quite a bit lower. So effectively giving slightly better sli scaling... roughly 50% sli scaling.

Well its the first day for the game, it will only get better in time with patches and drivers.

Have you tampered yet with the config file ?

Day 1 sli support even - hence why i dared to preorder :p

  9. Hmmph; kudos to them. Games are supposed to be a technical dumpster on Day 1 nowadays didn't they get the memo?

So who's going to be the first finishing it? I've already seen people having finished it in less than 6 hours on steam.... if true, I'm not impressed.

While character detail is very impressive in the cutscenes, i also find the character detail in gameplay rather impressive :)

I don't feel like the screenshots really does the game justice - there are so many dynamic effects, where i get this "wow" feeling when playing it, and then when i look at the screenshots afterwards, i'm like... did it really not look better?

A good example is this screenie - while it looks nice enough in the screenshot, it looked sooo much better in motion, with the flags blowing in the wind, the fog blowing, the hair blowing, the grass blowing, the birds flying, the mill running, etc.

I am happy that it doesn't... because if it did, then im willing to bet that it wouldn't have had sli support :)

They are mistaken the lighting.. I saw one reviewer say it and he didn't know what he was talking about.

Game is running quite well on my 4K panel with a mix of Epic and High settings, Post Processing and Aliasing set to Medium. Laptop 7700HQ / GTX1070 Mobility. Resolution 1620p upscaled to 2160p with Sharpening. Getting FPS in the 50's mostly everywhere in gameplay, 40-45 fps for cutscenes.

@Darren Hodgson What memory do you have in your system? My gaming was affected by microstutters due to resource loading to card as well, depending on game. I managed to eliminate a lot of it by upgrading to faster RAM, DDR4-2400 16GB to DDR4-2933 32GB. Gotta keep your GPU fed. :)

I also knocked down the Anti Aliasing a notch from Epic to High. The temperature difference on my GPU was wild IMO, from the 68 - 71C down to around 54C, and honestly, I can hardly spot the visual difference.

Played about 3 hours and had 3 "LoginID:098379083722347981" (numbers were something else with letters too) crashes where the game just shuts instantly. Is everyone else's game stable?

    Playing Epic at 2560x1440 144Hz.
