    Yeah idk, I bought my 32GB gskill 16/3600 kit in late 2016 (I thought it was earlier) for $220. When the game launches I'd imagine 32GB will be standard.

    Even now, for work I don't buy laptops under 8GB. I wouldn't recommend anyone build even an entry level gaming PC with under 16GB. 32 seems the next logical step with DDR5 imo.

    If the PS5 can manage 4k/60 with 16GB, then there is no reason SC can't be optimized to run well with 8GB. That's when the game is in a final release state, which could be never.

    I already said, its slower + costs more, and will overclock even less.
    If I dont need 32GB of ram for anything else, thats a super reason not to get it.

    I'm not really sure 4k/60 is correlated to ram lol..

    Like I can just draw a still image at 4k/60 and run it at like 1GB of ram.

    and it used to run on 16 meg it went to 24 recommenced when 3.0 dropped and that ran at 15 fps when the severs were working at all.


    my rig got 64 future proof :p.

    Well with upscaling it does. Not even the latest monster GPU's can do true 4k. It might be a while untill one does.

    Hopefully the talk about switching to vulkan api will come to realization.

    They are definitely working on it but it seems like going to Gen12 renderer is a priority. From the monthly reports, it seems like going from DX11 -> Vulkan on the current renderer won't really do much. The Gen12 renderer is designed to take advantage of low level APIs but they are building it 1:1 on DX11 initially so if they run into issues they know it's a render issue and not with the vulkan implementation specifically.

    Apparently some of the new rendering pipeline is coming online with 3.15. Going to be interesting to see.

    Yeah I don't see it happening. This year is going slightly slower than last year in terms of crowfunding but it's still massively outpacing all previous years:

    With a huge influx of Elite Dangerous players in the last few weeks (a bunch of huge ED content creators as well) it might actually catch up to 2020 by the time the year is out. Especially if they can hit some key milestones.
