Lolwut? People who are willingly spending money to help fund the game and it's future longevity is Cloud Imperium sucking money out of people?

Some amazing logic here.. I hope your first 8 posts were better than this one.

Aye. Give them enough time and Star Citizen is one of those games that has it all. Heck, I wouldn't have even dreamed something like this. This is basically a dream that I didn't even think I could dream come true.

I like the look of Star Citizen but Elite is out in just over 4 weeks & that is the daddy of these space sims & I cant see it being bettered by anything.

You're basing this opinion on what exactly?

I have been playing ed since standard beta and though they've made amazing progress with it and are not done adding more systems and updates to the game, it's scope still falls short from SC

It's not that there isnt a ton to do in ED, but rather that SC as a whole has a lot more to it.. both games though are amazing.

they are really different games, while i have never played ED, just from what i have seen they go in completely different directions.

so there is room to like and play both.

SC only costs $45 for the 50mission single/co-op campaign and includes full access to the PU with no monthly fees or pay walls so its not like it is an expensive game.

True, and yet there are forums and subreddits FULL of people who continue to pit these two games together, which is ultimately unfair since they truly are not in direct competition with one another. Just because they are both space sims, people seem to automatically do a VS between them, which IMO is shortsighted and shows that some people actually are not at all invested and knowledgable about the games, as if they were they would not be trying so hard to compare them.

I've followed both of these games for some time now (more SC initially, and now that its closer to full release, more ED). I've also played more ED in the last month since there is more to it atm than SC, and also because I'm choosing to play SC once its further down the line.

I'm not sure how people can already claim outcomes for games with comments like "there is way more to Elite Dangerous then with SC".. well obviously, one is nearing release and then other is meant to be in development for at least another year and likely even more.

Both games offer the user a variety of options toward how they wish to play in game and what they wish to do. Both of them are using engines customized specifically for those games.. both of them are VAST in scope, and have plans to be updated and improved over a long term span.

We're all winners in this, especially those of us who have been starved for some new Space Sims. Its tragic to me that so many people spout misinformation and BS about these games all over the place when they really don't know F all about them and have not been invested in their development.

A perfect example is like what I quoted.. many users have this impression that it costs an arm and a leg to get into SC and its anything but. You can get all ships in the game through playing, and yes it may take a while to get the in game currency to afford a bunch of those ships, but isn't that one of the whole purposes of playing?

Then you also have people, even in this thread, calling SC money hungry? I mean such nonsense is astounding..

Anyway, that's my shpeal for the day.

How am I making things personal?

There is so much skewed information on behalf of gamers with these two games its astounding. People talking about it and they know very little about it.

I'm not calling out anyone in particular, I'm stating facts based on several forums that I'm a part of, as well as reddit. People are entitled to opinions, but I'm talking about people posting their opinion as fact which has no basis in reality. It causes a lot of confusion amongst the gamer population.
