Thanks, not sure how to use it though, i loaded the sounds in, then when i selected them in the dir list, i then got the Info/Values in the right pane, and along the bottom, Comment Block Inserted, Adjust Values and Click Apply to fix. EDIT: Found a review of it http://www.manapool.co.uk/review/s-t-a-l-k-e-r-lost-alpha-review/ EDIT again: Found a video on YT showing how to use the OGG Comment fix. Nah, wasn't for the program
Wait a second wait a second... there is a new STALKER game??? I thought these guys were officially done? I clearly haven't done my homework. Been out almost a month too, WTF. Well luckily, I just got new headphones so this is my evening, very excited!! EDIT: I've read through some pages and appears to be lots of bugs; is there a post / website that gives fixes, patches, or general tweaks for making the game run better?
GSC Game World has a Stalker Lost Alpha forum with lots of info etc... http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr&lang=en
Turned the Grass Shadows Off, and put the Sun Rays down to Medium, gained a few frames, seems to be running well now, will have to make a start
I can't work it out, I've dropped a few settings too, some places Im getting 120fps+ then 2 steps in the same place and Im down to sub 30fps
Make sure to add the exe to the clearsky profile, you will need to remove it from Shadow of Chernobyl first as it will conflict. Im not sure if it's placebo but it seems run better with afterburner switched off, for me at least. Make sure you are running in dx10.1 mode by typing r3_use_dx10_1 on in the console. You can lower these values to increase frame rates also. r2_ssa_lod_a r2_ssa_lod_b
Yeah i get that to, its weird, seems to drop like a stone as well when its loading the next bit in or whatever its doing.
Tell me why without any profile changes the game was running SLI directly after instalation? Checked with nv inspector.
120+, is that maxed out, as im not breaking about 90, only get around 105 when i look straight up into the sky
I have the same issue[840 pro ssd] after the patch [3-5 min. load time], also had to run in xp3 mode [won't start] +dx9 other wise gamma/brightness sliders do not work [need a flash light on at noon outside], same with some other peeps in the mod forums waiting for the next patch ,at least I can play for now.
Nah not even nearly maxed out, I dropped grass and shadows and other things until it was playable, but the frame rate is all over the place, it doesn't seem to be what's on screen causing the drops, like I say in one place 120fps, a couple steps forward and 30fps or less, the only difference between the two parts of the map is 2ft, exact same everything more or less
Here is my latest gamedata folder with LAMP weapon pack, bug and ai fixes. As always, make a backup first. https://www.mediafire.com/?pf8c5j343sqp56k
After the patch I can now run it without XP mode, and removing the commandline commands from exe properties fixed the slow loading too
Was gona say, ive got everything maxed apart from the Viewable Distance, got that 3 notches up (seems to be massive hit when maxed), and the Grass Density, got that 16 notches up (which is just over half way), popped the grass shadows back on, as only seems to gain about 1 frame with it off, mostly im around around 55/70, but also get the funny drops to around 40 when ive hardly moved along, tis weird, probably optimize it a bit more in a few patches, with a bit of luck
Hopefully, there is a big improvement from what we have now compared to initial release, it's easily playable now but moar fps is always good
So are you guys using the S.L.A.M. pack? I installed and it and now I can't change any of the advanced video settings. It runs better but looks drastically different. Not in a great way either I don't think... There's no more sun rays or anything.
I just take bits and pieces of stuff, look at the scripts, ltx files, etc... ... and just get what I personally want.
