neither weekly nor daily affect my nvme or sata ssds
Same. I have to do it manually.
Windows knows when and if it needs to optimize your SSD.
that article is talking about different things
anyway it did not trim even with optimizing set to monthly. on the 29th day it sets to needs optimisation
you're fretting over something that doesn't matter.
Do some research, look up deterministic vs indeterministic trim.
the OS defrag will only run on an ssd when secret conditions are met, it is NOT required for TRIM, nor is it required for device initiated garbage collection.
The windows optimization will only be run on SSD's that can return determinate trim (ZRAT), ssd's that do not do zrat or incorporate controller encryption will never be able to be optimised by the OS's defrag feature.
This optimization will also only run in these conditions if system restore is enabled.
After doing a clean install of 1903, for the first time all ssds have been optimized according to the schedule set. I also did not install Samsung Magician this time around. So who knows what the issue really was.
1903 turned your system restore back on XD
