UE 2 was UT 2003 engine. UE 2.5 is UT 2004 engine (added vehicle code and all those things).

Why are you using no AA
Your card can run HDR+AA just set it in the control panel

 

You are right, UT2003 just uses the unreal 2.0 engine. Here's a link to unreal wiki for the guru's who are interested in more unreal engine games. There are many unexpected titles that use the unreal engines.

anyone with a 8800 tried this yet , i get artifacts all over the place

 

Try turning off AA btw cause that game does not work with AA unless you have a patch.

 

i aint got AA on and its the demo , it ran fine on my X1900XT , but because the 8800's are so new i bet its bad drivers

 

I have the problem as well

 

It always crashes on me when I alt-tab out and start the task manager. Is there another way to set the affinity and to set it permanently?

 

ive tried tweaking the ini file but its still awful, its down to lazy coding, my saves dont work, it runs like a sh*t in 1280x and theres no increased fps at all when i knock the settings down and run it in 1024x, Grrrrrrrr, i cant play it like this its to much hassle.

i just finished downloading the singleplayer demo from www.ausgamers.com (first time i use that site). The problem is for some reason the downloaded file is a .php file! WTF is that and how can I open it. I don't want to have to download it again since it took me around 9 hours to download.

 

rename to .zip , .rar or .exe try em all

 

try renaming the php file to either .zip, .rar or .exe (try each untill you get one that opens)

well it worked but it didn't work. the installation started up and it says "starting installshield wizards", and after that it just kept on loading and loading forever and nothing happens. then it crashes. i have tried it several times and the same thing is happening.
could the file be corrupt?
