same engine that is being used since chaos theory, LEAD, a modified UE 2.5 engine, all this time and they did not even had the decency to switch to UE 3. ghost recon uses an in-house engine made for consoles... so no michael ironside = splinter cell is dead, ubisoft, please ask mr. Clancy to make other stories so that you can suck them dry from money!
Yeah, the lack of Ironside and the new direction is killing it for me. The engine itself is pretty solid and scalable, good looking and performs very well for the game(s). No need to switch to an upgraded codebase and loose lots for work just for the sake of upgrading.
Agreed. I did enjoy the story side of SC conviction but the gameplay is really lame with the direction there taking it, killing a series just do they can appeal to 'core' gamers. What a joke and a shame.
It honestly saddens me as to what they've done to 3 of gaming's greatest franchises (GR, SC, RB6) just to get a bit of COD pie and maximize sales. The 3 were the games i turned to when i felt like playing something that required grey matter and didnt rely on just blind firing. What a shame. This is whats wrong with gaming - kill some kiwi's Aussies or brits and Amecs the world goes nuts, really getting sick of this s***. Also this is an old clip, same footage they've been showing for awhile.
Splinter Cell Blacklist - kiddy stealth video. Yay for convenient feet ledges. http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/31/splinter-cell-blacklist-stealth-demo Clearly Ubi just doesn't have it anymore if this is what they think is SC stealth.
Why doesn't Ubisoft simply give this game a different title, and nobody would complain. Oh right, the popular name is all this game has going for it. At least give the main character a different name 'cos this guy is obviously not Sam Fisher.
I've liked all of them so far but I agree Conviction just didn't quite feel Splinter Cell enough. Also, what happened to hiding bodies? Meant to say: I'll keep an eye on this and will probably purchase it once it's here.
Ubisoft return to the shadows http://youtu.be/ggR6WVZhYfA Visually that looks pretty damn fantastic and well worthy of being Chaos Theory 2 which is precisely what we all want and what the IP truly deserves. Only an Alpha build too.
Too bad the game doesn't have Sam Fisher in it. Just a lazy Sam Fisher copy. Without Michael Ironside it's not Sam.
