I guess I don't see why it wouldn't work, are you planning on listening to them both at the same time?

ragdoll, thx. it looks like the splitter i link to is mono and your link product is stero. Don't know if it makes a difference but if your sure it will work i'll buy product in your link.
Yes, I'd like to listen to both split sources simultaneously.

no, the spdif port out of my soundblaster its a mini coax rca jack. It is called flexijack and also doubles as a mic jack. I'm led to believe this means a 3.5 jack? There are 3 other equally sized ports coming out of my soundcard which are for analog suround sound.

Okay, I think I get it now. I don't think you'll get a splitted signal through a stereo mini plug. But that's probably why you asked about the mono plug in the first place ;)

    No, I'm sorry, I really don't know.
Seems it could be an interesting investment though ;)

Yep, that looks like the one I'd go with. A coax digital rca is just a mono output carrying a digital signal.

My only concern about listening to both receivers at the same time is whether there might be a slight delay between the two depending on how much DSP is going on. Not sure though, never tried it.

Nope, you need the stereo 3.5mm to RCA adapter I'm pretty sure :)
