Yes, Microsoft has released the SP1 for Vista 64 customers via it's windows update center. To start off, you'll have to install 2 critical updates, which ensure that the update/patch routines are brought in line with SP1 requirements. If you encrypt your Vista partition, you may need to install another update.

Once that's done, re-boot and search for new updates. The one you want is 121.5 MB big and is called Service Pack 1. Download is a tad slow but everything seems to work just fine.

I don't think so. According to news sites, they are not even sure why Vista 64 users can d/l the service pack. It has not been officially released yet to the general public. Who cares, it's the final release, so we can just as well get it over with.

@kevin: In case you haven't done that yet, you need to install all "perparatory updates" that are detailed in KB articles KB937287 (link) and KB938371 (link(. Once completed, you need to restart your rig and scan for new updates.
What language do you use you Vista in? The d/l file is only 120 meg big, so surely this is English only!

Odd... Our second x64 Vista here can not find it either and it is English (Home Premium OEM). I have installed SP1 in my system already (not via Wu), though.

    It's not released to everyone.

It's popping up on certain machines.
Again probably trying to make sure the download speeds are acceptable for everyone.

Tried it on several machines here and none of them had it pop up.
