sony could never make something as sleek looking or could they ??
interesting last leak i saw said sony had 13 tf and ms had 10 tf.
No excused for either system to not have mandatory 1080p@60 minimum at those specs, probably still wont happen even though it need to imo
^^A monitor base sitting across what i assume are heat vents, sound like a good idea. lol

ah just wanted to post this
34 Minutes to go
Disappointing... +-25% slower than XSX, variable GPU frequency and slightly faster SSD.
But I can say that the RDNA2 is shaping to be a real beast. AMD might finally give NVIDIA really hard hitting with their next gen GPUs.
Is it just 1.8
Inside PlayStation 5: the specs and the tech that deliver Sony's next-gen vision
They really pushed the speed on the GPU to get those 10TFLOPs, and not seem to have a big disadvantage to the Xbox.
Most likely that GPU won't be running at that speed most of the time. Probably will run at 8 to 9 TFLOPs for the majority of the time.
25% slower ? slightly faster SSD ?
I really hope they are hiding something under that "custom" RDNA2, because otherwise they just lost the HW war.
Their own gaming studios better deliver big time...
Something tells me , you are not a big fan of Sony , am i right ?
I dont know how you would say it is 25% slower and ssd is slightly faster since Microsoft didnt go in depth like Sony has with this presentation.
its like comparing apples and oranges since everything has been customized and is not comparable at all.
I not fan of MS nor Sony even though I have both. You obviously got fooled by the tech talk and some numbers.
And specifically to these SSD speeds, at this rates, the limitation is in the bus and CPU not being able to process the data. The difference between 5GB/s or 8GB/s will be minimal in real apps.
Since the talk was nothing but talk about removing bottlenecks , i have more faith in Sony then in Microsoft. i mean 4.8GB/s vs 9GB/s compressed data is a life changer.
To me its like Microsoft still has the same bottlenecks , but just put more power to it. the thing will sound like a vacuum cleaner probably, while performing worse , or having less graphic fidelity.
No offense, but at this point you are talking like a fanboy, preferring one HW over another based on "faith", assuming XSX will be a "vacuum cleaner" while we haven't heard it and we haven't even seen PS5. I'd rather believe that both consoles will be like vacuum cleaners, because that has always been the case... PS5 because of keeping high frequencies and XSX because of the bigger chip and high CPU frequencies. And honestly, telling us that console with faster GPU and CPU will have less visual fidelity... there is not much to say, I'd rather have 20%+ higher FPS(or res.) than having highest texture LOD loaded 0.5s faster.
It doesnt make someone a fanboy to believe the in depth tech talk from cerny. faith is something you would use if there was no in depth tech talk.
The PS5 main idea is to reduce heat and power and not having a loud fan.
thats why all the specs are different.
have you seen the Xbox ? its basicly a pipe with a fan in the top.
It wouldnt be this design if everything stayed cool.
How loud a console is for me is really a deal breaker. I removed the top of my PS4 pro because it is too loud with some games.
for me FPS will not matter anyways, 4k 60FPS is just the way i want it. (since my tv cant go higher).
If i would see tearing while playing it would drive me nuts tbh.
And im not planning to buy a new tv for quite some while.
Tbf, I doubt the PS5 will be as large as the X1SX, so it's possible it could still be louder even though it's slower.
I haven't heard a PS4 Pro but people have told me it's louder than the 1X.
Sony are playing it safe spec wise which is probably the smart thing as I'm not sure everyone will be ready for a console as expensive as the X1SX.
I don't know why, but the Xbox naming irritates me, particularly when writing on a phone.
yeah pro is loud AF with some games, im lucky to have no coil whine , but the fan really is not pleasant to hear.
i really love my living room being quiet while i play a game or watch something else. It is the main reason i put my PC in the next room, and let the cables run through the wall.
