Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that PlayStation 5 won't be backwards compatible with PS1, PS2 or PS3 games. PlayStation boss Jim Ryan claimed earlier this week that “99 percent” of PS4 titles can be played on PS5 via backwards compatibility

probably only if it was "released" on ps4 in which case it might? Like FF7 was released for ps4 to run on ps4 so in theory it "should" work on ps5. then again in theory i could be the pope

Yes, all PS Classics titles that worked on PS4 will work on PS5. I tried the Jak & Daxter series.

Super cause I still replay FF7/8/9 on Ps4. If and when those T7 external NVME samsung has that does 1000mb/s go on sale I will buy one but they need to go on sale I keep reading people complain about heat, then I found out there actua NVME and not 500mb/s sata3 ssd

I have External HDD dock that supports Sata 3 but USB on it is 2.0 so there would be no point in me using it external drive of anything

Question about PS4 backwards compatibility on PS5. 90%+ of my PS4 games were digital purchases off the PS Store. Is it simply the case of logging in with my account on the PS5 and those games I purchased will be in my library? Just download and play?

If you look in your GUI for the PS4, there is a new button on the main horizontal bar.

CBA to turn it on haha.

EDIT: I guess you're on about some sort of a transfer off all installed games from PS4 to PS5? I'm not interested in that. Just wanted to know if the games I have in my PS4 library will simply show up on my PS5 if I sign in with my account. Then I would just download a game or two that I fancy playing.

Yes, but it's better than that: your PS5 will wirelessly connect to your PS4, and you can port everything from your u/n and p/w.

    And...

You can operate your PS5 from your PS4 interface...which is pretty slick

ah... That is pretty neat to be honest. But, I'll be giving my PS4 away as soon as I get my PS5.

Thanks for the effort you put in to explain this. Appreciate it.

That explains why the new Halo looks like a Xbox 360 game.

Using a codemaster game to test the full capability of hardware is a bit like trying to make a copy of the Mona Lisa with a pack of crayons. Lol

Codemasters make some good games. Been around since the Amstard days. They used to have an office near me. I always wanted to work there. ;)

watching review like this and other games running 120hz/Fps make me say one thing there is NO excuse anymore for not having 60 fps mode, which is all i want, well other then no game to ever run below 1080p ever

1080p will be great for all games, so long as you turn off 120Hz.
