    Hi Guys

I haven't been active here in forever, how ever good to be back

I basically ditched the pc and when over to console gaming.

Now the time has come to either upgrade to a ps4 (no backwards compatibility, expensive games, inscriptions etc ...list goes on)

Or build a half decent rig ?

Now,I don't want to go back to sitting at desk with a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

I'm looking at solutions for having a system in the lounge hooked up to a large screen TV.

I know there are HTPC solutions with remotes, steam big picture and steam os

What I basically need is ideas from you guys, maybe some screenshots of guys with similar setups, what type of controllers you use, what type of interface or os to use,and some desktop sceenies would really help the cause

Did you have a budget to work with? Also need to know how much space you have next to you tv most likely not much and would require a Mini ITX setup and small form factor case

Ive got a decent HTPC setup in my lounge but i stream games from my main pc through steam when the game doesnt benefit Keyboard & Mouse.

I use the xbox 360 controller on on my pc. i got friends that use the xbox one and ps4 controller, although the ps4 controller isnt as compatible in games, some games will tell you to press X as in the X on a xbox controller, so can be confusing.

Depending on your budget is where this is going to go. If you've got a small budget say $500-$600, Alienware Alpha is pretty nice plus comes with an xbox controller.

    That's easy then!

    970 ITX edition
    i5 unlocked
Lots of options for a mitx case, silverstone Raven MITX for example.

Not sure on costs in SA, but there is several options for mini itx cases:

something along the lines of the following setup should be decent:

CASE: Silverstone Raven (if you need slim line) but if you need something with several HDD/SSD space you will need something bigger. like BitFenix Phenom
    MB: - Gigabyte GA F2A88XN-WIFI
    CPU - i5 4690
RAM - GSkill Area 8GB kit (2x4GB) (Different ram not a big deal.)
GPU - if you go slim line case the 970 mini will have to be the go, otherwise with the bitfenix case any graphics card will fit, so work to your budget.
PSU - any 650W power supply will be more then enough, just make sure you get a decent brand, (silverstone, Corsair, Antec etc....)

Hope that will get you on track.
