    Any professional software devs here?

Any who’ve made it to lead developer / software architect?
    Any tips?
I try to see where I can add value but it’s challenging working with work colleagues who like to work by themselves and don’t like to share what they’re up to. This prevents me from getting an overview of the bigger picture. There’re some work colleagues who strictly believe in sticking to their job description and not worrying about others, forgetting the importance of team-work. It’s even harder when we work remotely.

Any ideas of how to gain exposure to the wider business when working in a more established company? That’s the other challenge.

Never wanted to be team leader/architect. Coding is my pleasure...

    Are you a senior dev?
If so how did you get to that stage?
What’s your company and dev team size?

I like coding too but I’d love to get more involved in the architecture side of things :) Love learning and trying new things!

I am not senior dev. Our team is small - 4 devs and several other roles people. I always worked in teams not bigger than 20 devs.

How long have you been a dev ?
What’s your official title and would you consider yourself mid level?

    Since 1992.

    Title is something like "engineer-developer".

    Define "level".

Mid level = between junior and senior

I only worked in 5 companies since 1992, and all of them had different titles for developers...

PS Maybe in really big teams (companies) there is necessity to divide devs into "junior/mid/senior" groups...

Depends on the company really. I was in a startup where the division was clear!
