Softmod doesn't stick?

    got a 6800gto card but core is a fx 3400

    hi unwinder

    I recently bought a caard from ebay which is suppose to be a 6800gt but when i remove the stock fan and heat sink i saw a quadro fx 3400 corelabel on my gpu.below is my rtf i got from riva tuner.

    Can you help me to determine ia this a fx 3400 ? can i use a fx 3400 bios and flash it? one thing i notice is that the 3 pin din connector is missing.

    That card has hardwired info in the AGP<->PCIe bridge chip that will always report it as a GeForce. That's why I wouldn't reccomend flashing it with a Quadro FX 3400 BIOS since no matter what the label on the GPU says, it's identical to the GeForce 6800 NV40 GPU.
    You can try using NVStrap to unlock the pipes and mod the card into a Quadro FX 4000, but remember that will only work on applications that check for pro capabilities (ex: Maxtreme for MAX, Powerdraft, Maya, Houdini, XSI, Studio Tools, UGS, Power Engineer, Catia,...).
    Applications that check for the card's PCI id (ex: SolidWorks) will still think it's a GeForce.
