    3D LCD?
    It's a regular 120hz LCD, no 3D at all.
The problem is that the manufacturers or shops sell regular 120Hz monitors as 3D monitors, which has nothing to do with 3D at all.
They can be used with Nvidia 3D Vision though, since the shutters only work like supposed with a 120Hz monitor.
So correct term would be 3D Vision Ready, the salesmen should be bashed for telling us otherwise.
A 3D monitor has the 3D build in, no need for glasses and stuff, but those are still pretty hard to get, most of them are prototypes.

You didn't write it the wrong way :)
I just think it is a missconcept that manufacturers, shops and even some sites pronounce them as 3D monitors.

As for IPS.. more accurate colors and larger viewing angle, lower response time and a much higher price.
So not worth it getting one specific for gaming.

I've got a Samsung 120Hz, it's nice, but unless you use 3D or do competitive gaming (where people care less about AA and stuff, and just make sure they get 120 fps or more), it's rather pointless.

Thanks, but I can't find either one of those for sale in the US. Fry's has the BenQ but it isn't in stock, if it ever was. The viewsonic, well, I've been watching for it, but there aren't any retailers or e-tailers that carry it, only one small company that has it listed, but it's never been in stock yet.

Here only the BenQ is in stock.
The ViewSonic is preferable though since you can use it together with ATI.

    Still need shutter glasses though.

Really? I find it much more enjoyable to use than any 60hz I've ever used. Not just for 120fps online games, but also for <60fps games like Crysis and Metro.

Depends, on lower fps you can "feel" the laginess a bit more, whereas on a 60Hz monitor, it's kinda masked because of the lower refreshrate.

Personally, I see 3D as just a craze. I don't see what's the fuss is all about. 3D movies are meh in the first place...

I agree. Don't even watch in theatre when it's available in 3D. My son loves it though.

Studios tend to either insert the 3D as an after thought or over use them.

The only 3D one I liked was Despicable Me because they didn't overuse the 3D, only used it when it makes sense.

Though, the movie except one scene looks perfectly fine without 3D.

I liked the Spongebob 3D ride. That ping pong thing was scary!

Quite the opposite. On low FPS, 120hz monitors feel smoother simply because of the higher refresh rate.
