Yup, I feel you. I have just over 200 games and I am sure there are at least 30 I havent even installed, not even once! I will play them eventually....

Although I do love when I play a game that is 3+ years old and I can max it out and downsample a crazy resolution and it looks amazing haha.

I know what you mean. I have 131 games, but only 51 installed. Steam sales are just too hard to pass up!

Wow, that skin is quite something :D

And I know what you mean, I'm going to sort my games list out soon into games I want to play still and ones I'll most likely never touch.

I have almost 370 games in total and I finally created a category called "Will never play" where I've put over a 100 games. Stuff from bundles, games that I thought were good but werent, games that I simply wanted to collect and so forth. I wonder how much money I would have saved if I didn't buy those games :)

Have around 130 games in Steam, a dozen or so in UPlay (some duplicates with Steam for UPlay games bought via Steam) and Origin.

I'd estimate around half of those are not completed, with a few not even touched yet. Though if you classify completed as 100 % completed then I haven't completed a single game I own... except Never Alone.

From my experience working within the games industry, overpurchasing and underplaying games is rampant among steam users. I frankly don't understand it. I have all of 20 games in my steam over the years.. I think some people genuinely just like collecting games.

$80 CAD? HAHA no. Looks great, but I'll be waiting till its closer to 40. $80? I paid that for Witcher 3. No chance in any hell that Wolfenstein is worth as much as Witcher 3 day one.

    "But it's only $7.50 at 85% off!"

    :p

It's not even about collecting. I don't feel like I'm collecting games on Steam; it's just a subscription service. I see a game that looks nice, I say "I'd like to play that", but then I never get around to actually do that due to lack of time. And before you know it, you end up with hundreds of unplayed games.

Another factor during sales is the "I might not see it at this price again" thinking. When a game is at full price, and I know I can't play it right now, I don't buy it. But when it's heavily discounted, I buy it so I can play it later even when the price goes back up to full price.

I don't even have Steam installed anymore. I bought too much crap with sales that I never played. Anything worth playing I own, I beat. And everything I have interest in has been available outside of steam (Destiny 2, Gears of War 4, Forza, Wolfenstein 2, Witcher 3, etc.) . 2018 will be a steam-free year.

This is exactly what impulse buy is. Lowering prices to get people to buy is a gimmick as old as time itself. Prices will always go back down.. when have you ever seen a game at one price, get heavily discounted ONCE and never again? Sure, may not happen right away, but almost always it will go back on sale.

Too many people get duped by the "OMG I HAVE TO HAVE IT NOWWWW otherwise I'll NEVER get it at this price" syndrome, and its amazing how effective it is.
