I didn't realize how far back AMD was back then. This thing isn't even near my Core 2 T9300 laptop. THankfully I'm just using it for some old games. https://imgur.com/a/8DW9tid
You wanna hear a funny thing? These phenom 2 cpus actually ware faster than crappy fx bulldozer when they came out, it was just bad time for amd. Thuban cpus are lacking some instructions so older games only at this time.
this thing isn't even a Thuban. It's a Deneb. I got out of the AMD scene when Conroe hit so I never fiddled with a Penom 1 or 2 or any of the FX chips. This is new territory for me.
I had the Phenom II X4 965 BE, was a lovely upgrade over my previous Athlon X2 6000+ or whatever it was
Ye, aside from the few games it can't run due to lack of instruction sets, it still generally gives an experience comparable to the PS4 The tests done also shows that the Phenom II X4 are handling modern games much better than the Core 2 Quad counterparts
I stuck my old 660Ti into it. I'm not sure what games I'll be using on it yet. I may end up running Virtual PC 2007 on it. It's got the best windows 98 emulation as Hyper V doesn't support 98 and VMWare isn't quite as good as the old VPC2007.
This thing feels pretty responsive it loads fast and everything is quite snappy. Running 32bit Windows XP of course. I have it running from a 5400 RPM stata laptop drive even.
Got VPC running Windows 98. It's running really well. Now I just have to figure out how to get a joystick working
