    Hello guru's,

I have my refund for the year and now I need some help making a decision. I'd like to return to a SLI setup after being on a single Superclocked Titan since their launch. I just can't figure out if going SLI 980's is worth the price compared to what I currently have. I don't need the all of compute power of the Titan (lucked into it at a substantial discount during their launch) as I mostly game. I do run dual monitors. Will I gain enough to warrant the purchase cost for two of those lovely cards?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Going from a single Titan to GTX980 SLI will be a rather large performance gain.

Depends on what you want for IQ settings and frame rates.

I would wait just a little longer until real high-end next-gen gpus show up e.g. Nv GM200 and AMD 380/390X. Shouldn't be that long now.

So ppl should trust AMD PR team now?ok.@OP,if you can wait just wait, but you should know that something better will always be around the corner.Even if AMD will come with a new card before GTA V nVidia will strike soon with a GM200.

Or some shop owner for that matter :p

what's the big deal anyway? He would throw away money if he gets 2x 980gtx now, both real high-end will be much stronger and around the same price as 980gtx now. 980gtx price WILL drop soon, its a ripoff @ 500-600€/$ anyway.

That shop owner have never lied to his customers, but AMD on the other hand...not that nVidia is some kind of a saint.

How are you not getting this? Because you feel the AMD rep is unreliable, "Gibbo" is therefor more reliable? The point is both people are likely talking out their butt.

It's not exactly in Gibbo's best interests if everyone stops buying current gen hardware and decides to wait. Take both sides with a pinch of salt.

Thank you for all the help and advise, everyone. I almost forgot about nvidia's GTC next month. Probably wait until after it ends to see what announcents (if any) surface. If they say that nothing is coming down the pipeline until late this year, I may go ahead and jump on the 980's. If they have some news on 980 TI or some such refresh coming soon, I'll see what news on it surfaces.

Can you find another titan used somewhere? that would be a cheaper option.

Tried that earlier today, actually. Unfortunately any used Evga SC Titans I found were all listed at just about retail price.
