Just published by Square Enix. It's made by United Front Games. They are made up of a who's who of Dev Studios. Ex Black Box, Rockstar, Radical and Volition Studios. Pretty good collection of talent there.

Yet I consider it pretty much standard these days coming from light sources.

If indeed the game turns out to be a gem (or even a rough one as I suspect it will be) we can all raise our heads high and give a big **** you to the twats at Activision for letting the game go to a different pub. I'm not expecting something as polished as Just Cause 2 but the few gameplay videos I've seen make it a damn more fun looking gameplay experience than the at times utter borefest that is GTAIV.

But then as someone else already mentioned there is dev talent from one time Black Box, Rockstar, Radical and Volition on board so there should be a little something for everyone.

Watching the HD gameplay I didn't see alot of self shadowing at all. I wonder if they had it maxed really.

That's what I thought as well, I mean, the rain and reflections and overall visuals look rather good, the lack of decent shadows kind of stands out.

Well I will have to wait until Friday but I will definitely be maxing it out(Minus Motion Blur as I hate that too) and give my 7970 a good workout if it's that heavy.

If there were shadows for every little thing, people would cry about poor performance on their multiple 680s and call it a bad console port! Just enjoy the game ffs or play Crysis exclusively :-|

While I would agree the fact they have a Day 1 HD Texture DLC I would have thought good shadows would have been included in that. That said I still say it looks fantastic. Not changing my anticipation for this game one bit!

Me too! Looking forward to see how the game turns out! That hand to hand combat is awesome!

Game is pre-loading on steam at 5,535.7MB

I'm guessing thats without HD pack but I'm not sure how to download that I'm guessing I have to get the main game first.

Got it working, tried the benchmark mode and took those images, overall it's pretty good considering the settings and that I also use SMAA and have various stuff forced via CCC.

EDIT: Disabled SMAA as the FXAA can't be disabled entirely, plus it's also using SSAA so there's no real need for it.

EDIT: Tested disabling SSAA, with and without VSync and then the final settings which still use SSAA but 2x(I guess) instead of 4x(Or what it is.) balances it out pretty well.

I always love it when you get a game first and post about it, Jonas, as there's always technical info and screenshots, including some showing the options available (which is very nice to know). Thanks.

P.S. I have to say that I'm very impressed with the amount of graphics options to tweak with - it's on a par with Just Cause 2 from the same publisher. It's so refreshing to see PC games with lots of options to fiddle around with and from within the game too.

At one point I honestly thought the Graphics option would disappear for good, to be replaced by a resolution option only (and no v-sync option either), thanks to lazy developers who just port over console code without any real PC enhancements.

Is this game Steam only for PC release? Just checking to see what my options are before buying.
