SK Hynix has developed 1Znm 16Gb (Gigabits) DDR4 (Double Data Rate 4) DRAM. As 16Gb is the industry's largest density for a single chip, the total memory capacity per wafer is also the largest of the...

Its a new process to etch the silicon.

    I think it's a typo, and should be 12nm with most being 20nm and a handful 16nm.

    It's not a typo

"Beyond 20nm, the DRAM is expected to scale two or three iterations in the 1xnm regime, which is referred to as 1xnm, 1ynm and 1znm. “1xnm is anything between 16nm to 19nm. 1ynm is defined as 14nm to 16nm. 1znm is defined by 12nm to 14nm,” said Er-Xuan Ping"

I wonder what comes after Z.
    Is there a hyperspace character?
