is this the same for you ?
Happens randomly, I have to reinstall the driver cause the control panel either won't launch or the whole driver is broken - vram at max clocks with stuttery mouse and 36w idle power on a single monitor (6w when cc works normally). restarts don't work. tested three different drivers, all the same. it will often delete game profiles I made at the same time too.

thing looks fancy but it's broken af at the same time. I think I reinstalled the driver 3-4 times in the past few weeks.

after the package reinstall back to normal, until it happens randomly again.

    Disable Windows updating graphic drivers
Had a similar issue, turns out Windows for no reason sometimes installed a driver that messed up the system.

this isn't windows related, it's not updating nor downloading a new driver version.

Did you ever install the Radeon package from Windows Store? Does Store still think it's version is still installed, and applying updates?

    no, amd site directly.
no idea what it could be
win10 intel mobo drivers conflicting ? like I said, this is amd CC not opening/idle power issue only. games run fine. sometimes the CC will open but I see the minimize/maximize/X buttons only. clicking any of them shuts the app to tray but it won't start again and I have to reinstall.

Here it's working fine, as always.
Do you have any other thing that can change settings, that might be interfering?
Maybe something like MSI Afterburber that could be applying one set of settings, and the AMD Control Panel another.

(Almost) never had this problem. Did u used DDU, or more importantly, did u do fresh OS install after switch from NV? Honestly don't sure it is biggie, as I hot swapped MB from Intel to AMD while keeping OS intact, and after reinstall I did not see any improvement toy gaming experience or OS itself...but I am in game since 90s, so...

And maybe there is conflict issue, I had Afterburner? conflict once, or some other app, I do not remember now.

This is why i DDU drivers every time i install new ones, and have automatic driver updates disabled.

My experience with AMD cards is limited to my current 6950xt but so far i had no issues with their control panel.

Also, i really like their adrenaline center, it`s really cool to have all the features needed in a single program, and i think this is their most appealing feature compared to Nvidia.

I'll send a report and see what happens first before I consider selling it, it'd be a shame cause I'm more than happy with gaming performance.

I'll just say this. When I had my 6700xt, it had so many issues such as blackscreens, flickering, crashes etc. So I got a refund for it and waited a few months until I was able to buy a gpu again. I decided to give AMD a second chance and bought a 7900xt which turned out to be a great purchase as now I haven't experienced any of those things with it. Long story short, it might be the gpu itself that could be causing those issues which could have been my problem too.

I've never had amd control not opening. I also didnt had crashes for a long time and card is pushes to its limits.

If you had a stable system with a stable overclock you should not be having these issues.

3d clocks should not have an impact on whether you god damn control panel opens and what the 2d idle power draw is. unless you're amd.

My idle power is high becouse my memory is always running at max clocks.

mine is not. 6w in idle. 9w in browser. 13-14w yt playback.
you do have a problem, just one that reinstalls won't help.

I never had that kind of issue. But on all Systems (both AMD and Intel + different AMD GPUs) i had over the years it was what i consider somewhat unstable. 99% of Time it works fine.. but then randomly it might close and restart itself when "browsing" through settings.I had a lot of different GPU and CPU Setups and yet that always was a thing lol.

It is a problem. I've had it before using multi monitor setup as well as high refresh rate ultra wide single monitor today. Vram always maxed out. I had the same monitor with the rtx 3070 and it was running fine.

Having you tried the Amernimezone drivers? Not that I think it will resolve the issue, but consider all it takes is a driver install, worth a shot.
