    What culture?

Public healthcare = fail, America's healthcare = fail. Mix the two and it works.

The fun thing about public health care is that it sucks balls. Formerly living in Canada, I know this. The wait times are terrible, and you don't always get the best care. At least in the U.S. you're getting the best medical care available anywhere. Yes, it does cost an arm and a leg, but it's totally worth it.

Full of gangs?? lol, there are bad parts of the city, where'd you stay and /or visit? Because gangs in San Francisco don't run rampant through the streets. As far as the homeless, they're a few, mild climate..

I've seen a few folks say that it takes a couple days to get in to see the doctor. Wow that's crazy. I make an appointment at 8am and I'm always in that day....usually by noon. It's been that way since I was a kid, with multiple doctors.

Well I've never tried to make one for the same day, but whenever I go in I never have to wait.

    Muslim friendly? WTH is that?
Sorry, I don't have a good answer for you; but the U.S. is really screwed up, as well as Canada. All of our Healthcare (or lack of it) is being privatized, just like the U.S.
I just came from my doctor. I'm going through a very serious withdrawal from the prescription drugs he's had me on for years due to chronic pain (five or six very nasty drugs) and when I tell him I've lost 30lbs and I'm still losing and not eating or sleeping, his response is one of apathy and indifference. My point is, if you need a doctor, you'll have a hard time finding one (at least in B.C) as they are all getting old and not taking on new patients. Plus the fact that if you need any medical test or procedure, you have to wait at least 6 months because of the waitlists. I personally waited almost two years just to get into the 'Back Pain Clinic'!
The good news is, that we don't have rockets flying over our heads everyday. :bounce: Europe sounds pretty good; although I've never been there. I'm also English, but I've never been to Britain!
Also; Health, Canada wants to remove all of the Health and Nutritional Supplements (which I've taken most of my life) from the shelves , because they're competing for revenue! I have a petition from "Genesis Nutrition", telling Health Canada that people should be able to make their own decisions regarding nutrition and health. Health Canada says that they would require 3,000,000 signatures!!! That's just insane!
Yeah, I think Europe is wayyyy ahead of us in a lot of areas.

The Netherlands have good healthcare. It is free of charge. Our society is called a "Caring society" because our gouvernment pays for almost everything. Taxes aren't very low because of that tough.
With your high education, you will have a good chance in society. Only 11% has your level. In The Netherlands, we have the levels after high-scool (-ish): MBO(Avarage) HBO(Higher) WO(Highest level). 11% is HBO or higher in The Netherlands. So your at the higher level of our society! I am currently attending WO TU/e (University of technology Eindhoven) BioMedical Engineering. It's tough... But I'll make it.
If you plan to any study further, the govournment will support you with money. If you do very well, your education is almost free(TRUE STORY) of charge. A friend of mine, attending TU Delft > Aerospace Engineering gets his education almost for free because if his very, very good results!
So, when you look at the education/cost and quality ratio, The Netherlands is the way to go!

These elitist comments are getting tiresome. We all know you think the U.K. is amazing and completely superior to the U.S. You can have any opinion you wish, but keep it to yourself. Even with silly comments like that being directed at you, be the bigger man and just let it go.

I never actually said I like the UK, I actually don't like it much. Also I didn't directly mention america that time, just that person just made a comment about someone been German and loosing the war, when I'm pretty sure the person it was said to wasn't actually involved in the war (which America didn't win).

It is actually really funny and a little bit sad that people still brag about(winning)/whine about the Second World War. It makes me a little upset when people generalize the Germans to a level beyond this reality. Sure, the war changed the world. But it is nearly 65 (!) years ago! Let it go!
WE are part of the NEW generation!
    WE have to move forward.
The generation before us (60'-70') basically cleaned up the mess, so we can create a new and a hopefully better future.

So please, quit this discussion, and help the Thread-poster out ok :)?

Umm, the genocide was about 70 years ago now? Get over it, Germany is a completely different place now. And I already explained how it is Muslim friendly earlier. Tons and tons of Turkish people came to Germany after the war to reconstruct the country (which was a pile of rubble). The country still has a large population of Turks to this day.

Well in the USA, you will find some communities that'll lynch you, and others that will idolize you.

A community that is friendly to both atheists and Muslims is going to be hard to find but I'm certain they exist. If I had to look for one I'd ask on the James Randi Educational Foundation boards (JREF). However, those boards are a known hangout for atheists so if the websites you visit are being tracked don't go there.

No matter what you believe in a large city in America there's at least a few nut jobs who will hate you for it. The key is hooking up with like minded folks while not giving in to group think when you find them (a whole lot harder than people think).

Come to Oregon, USA! People are generally pretty friendly here. We have very clean air, clean drinking water, weather is pretty mild but it kinda rains a lot. We have all four seasons, but our winter is kinda weak some years... and.... we have a lot of trees. It's a beautiful state. BTW, we have no sales tax and we have good buds! :D
